Ok thanks for the information. What does your user agent look like for the user startup?

SetEnv OWB_USER_AGENT Dalvik/2.1.0.(Linux; U; Android 6.0.1.; Nexus Player Build/MMB29T)

I would like to run some tests, would it be correct like this?

MacStudio ARM M1 Max Qemu//Pegasos2 AmigaOs4.1 FE / AmigaOne x5000/40 AmigaOs4.1 FE

SetEnv OWB_USER_AGENT "Dalvik/2.1.0.(Linux; U; Android 6.0.1; Nexus Player Build/MMB29T)"

always put the user-agent you want to test in quotes

this user-agent will also give you the exit error we were talking about.
But you should see the videos in full screen.

Select in Odyssey from the "full screen" menu and then go to the video box in the lower right to put the video in full screen.

note:
this will put your processor in a bind
in that case you should try Picasso96 mode
which I was talking about earlier

Ok I also did some tests with:

OWB_USER_AGENT "Dalvik/2.1.0.(Linux; U; Android 6.0.1; Nexus Player Build/MMB29T)".

It does indeed run a bit better, I don't want to offend anyone, but the main problem is Odyssey or the internal player and WebCore, it doesn't seem to have been optimized and implemented well. Maybe there is just no better way at the moment.

You can see the comparison as soon as you run YouTube streams directly through MPlayer/YT. I know that software development is very complex and the Amiga community does a very good job with the resources available.

The bottleneck is currently the sm501 support, as already mentioned Qemu is optimized for 32 bit window output. Nevertheless, what is possible under certain hardware is remarkable. I find this really amazing this emulation is very young and yet it already works very well.

Also from me again a short video about it:

Of course, I would like to abide by the rules of this forum. Is it ok if I embed my YouTube videos in the forum, or should I just provide the link ?

Good boy,
Understand that if there were at least a dozen people like us, emulation could be developed better.

Yes, there are better and faster user-agents.
And it is clear that Odyssey is optimized for Real Amigas as it should be.

But if someone would hack into the code they could optimize it for emulation.

And keep in mind that we are using sm501.

Now if you want a really fast browser it's "firefox" or "waterfox" for example.

But you can only do this through AmyCygnix it is practically the same as the real PC counterpart you can also add all the plugins etc.

That's why I want it to work.
On WinUAE it works but it needs a real external IP address which I haven't been able to get so far or rather I haven't figured out yet what to use if NAT or something else whith Qemu.

For this I would have to use a graphics card that also supports AmigaOs4.1, that won't work with a MacStudio M1 that is only slightly larger than a MacMini M1.

External graphics card solutions do not exist here. This part would have to be tested by someone with Pc hardware, I'm not even sure if it's possible.

However the emulation is excellent with qemu
when a compatible card will be emulated.
It will be a nice emulation.

It is equally true that few help ZBalaton
And so times are long.

ZBalaton is doing a great job.

For the rest it is normal to try to go beyond the current limits of emulation, it remains a pastime and every now and then we look for some ideas to improve it.
But in the end everything works, only the video card is missing

And it is thanks to the community of this forum that there are all the additional programs to be able to watch videos on YouTube and streams and many other things.
it must not be forgotten.

Otherwise without these programs the Amiga machine, even if real, would have very little to offer.

Here, too, many more Amiga developers are needed.
because there are only a few left.

The same most used systems such as Windows or Mac without the additional software created by third parties would have little to offer.

For me the same "Windows" is now old is from Windows XP that the system is always the same.

The hardware moved on but in reality a new OS never came out
we are always stuck on Windows XP practically

I guess I’ll be testing as long as I know what to buy. I have about 6 rx 480’s laying around those are supported? And then what version of aos4 do I need to buy? I have a spare amd ryzen 3900 system laying around too. 🤷‍♂️

Otherwise there is an alternative installation guide from BALATON Zoltan on his project page at:

http://zero.eik.bme.hu/~balaton/qemu/amiga/aos_pegasos2.html

If you need help with the installation of AmigaOs4.1 I am at your disposal.

Passing a graphics card supported by AmigaOs4.1 via Qemu GPU passthrough is currently untested, but should be possible in theory.

Do we know how this could be done? I think I have a computer where I could test it, but I am not sure if I can do it soon enough.
It would be great though to have here the way for someone to test it.

I'm planning on testing a minimal linux distro and passing PCIE for my graphics cards, NVME drive and a sata drive this weekend. I will post my results.

There are some tutorials about it on YouTube e.g.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdwKIb7lDvo

or

https://askubuntu.com/questions/140688 ... 2-04-gpu-passthrough-qemu

It looks quite complicated and if the whole thing can be implemented under Qemu Gast PPC I don't know exactly. But it would be interesting if someone would test it and maybe even have success.

it's a glorified command builder. I don't have amigaos currently so I posted it for others to test with.

helps build your pci passthrough config , download and extract the pegasos rom, and since it's available as a trial I did add the ability to download morphos(this can't be done for AmigaOS obviously.) so people can at least try it and hopefully help fix my bugs :D. However for my personal goal I'm trying to run as much hardware native as possible so I did not add HD image support.

Currently I'm trying to get it to automatically pass through as much hardware as possible otherwise all of your devices are selectable. Added logging to help debug my unbinding issues right now.

I have an end goal of being able to run it on a bare arch linux system and have it auto configure everything for you.
