Cool, seems it's not a dead project. The last comment was on 2007/8/28 where he says that the install CD is nearly ready.

Hmmm -- there must be another thread too, because I remember reading more recent posts than that.

I'm VERY interested in this project too.

Is this for real? It says PPC 'testing'. Wow, 20 MB is smaller than --damnsmalllinux.org ; 50 MB for DSL.

DSL has a lot of apps though:

XMMS (MP3, CD Music, and MPEG), FTP client, Dillo web browser, Netrik web browser, FireFox, spreadsheet, Sylpheed email, spellcheck (US English), a word-processor (Ted), three editors (Beaver, Vim, and Nano [Pico clone]), graphics editing and viewing (Xpaint, and xzgv), Xpdf (PDF Viewer), emelFM (file manager), Naim (AIM, ICQ, IRC), VNCviwer, Rdesktop, SSH/SCP server and client, DHCP client, PPP, PPPoE (ADSL), a web server, calculator, generic and GhostScript printer support, NFS, Fluxbox and JWM window managers, games, system monitoring apps, a host of command line tools, USB support, and pcmcia support, some wireless support.

X-Amiga is finished, I'm just putting together a bootable CD.

Just wanted to comment: DSL has a lot more applications, but is compressed to fit onto a 50Mb CD. If X-Amiga were similarly compressed, I'm guessing it could be <10Mb.

Anyway, the project is FAR from dead...

Cool :) Perhaps in the future it can be adopted to give the amigaos side more direct access to hardware like amithlon did.

Cool! I am looking forward to try it! I've sent you an email this morning.

@Orgin
Maybe it's about time to set up a new Software Support forum for Fractallyte and his project.

The project isn't anything 'new', it's just a quicker, smaller way to boot E-UAE. It would be great to have more direct access to hardware from the Amiga side, but that's a request for Mr Drummond!

As it is, there's support for all network cards supported by Linux (in-kernel and ndiswrapper), ALSA cards, and FFS formatted drives. USB flash drives work too.

As for a forum devoted to this project - well, no, not a good idea at the moment. Like everything in the Amiga world, it should be considered vapour until released.
