Hello!

Hello everyone,

I am new not only here, but on the platform. I am long time POWER/PowerPC fan and user, whatever that meant through the history. I always wanted to have an Amiga, never for some nostalgic game playing, but for some usage - and it never happened. I summarised my experience two years ago in a blog post.

But since then I've finally got my shiny new Sam 460LE and now I'm trying to cope with (for me) a completely new universe. I hope to get some newbie advice here :)

Otherwise not much to say - I'm almost 40, live in the heart of Europe and like obscure technology of all kinds.

Welcome to our little corner of the net! I hope you really
enjoy your experience with the new SAM460.

Yes, AmigaOS is quite different from other OS's, but it's also
very straightforward. A file is a file; a program; a program;
and you can actually understand all the pieces of the OS.

Being a small corner of the computing world with no big corporate
parents, we also have to do so many things ourselves. Our own apps,
tools and methods. That can be frustrating, especially if someone comes
from a spoonfed world.

But most have us appreciate, enjoy (are addicted to) the feel and
pleasure of using the Amiga. I hope you find it too.

Let us know what questions you've got and where us users can help.
