Problems to boot Linux install CD HELP!
Quite a regular

See User information
I have noticed that after some work of doing the partitions the results aren't very nice.

I type "diskboot 500000 2:0" but after some time it returns to the U-Boot prompt.

What can I do to boot my Linux CD correctly?

Shall I repartition my HD in order to setup my Linux
partitions?

Anybody with same problem?

Suggestions well received.

Unless you are using a very old version of U-Boot the controller is missing, it's "diskboot <address> <drive>:<partition> <controller>", try "diskboot 500000 2:0 0" or "diskboot 500000 2:0 1". IIRC 0 is VIA686b and 1 is sii0680.

@joerg I have tried "diskboot 500000 2:0 0" too but it fails again.

I have VIA686 controller and the U-Boot is 1.1.1

I like Linux+MacOS and want to see it on my system.
