No idea, better do backup, do a quick format, and restore.
are you dual booting with MorphOS? If so then SFS that can be the problem.

Ohh that fear when sfs reports about problems

I'm very glad to hear that you could save the precius sources

IMHO there is no better option than SFS for OS4.1 fe today.
Generally it's a stable file system but when things go wrong there is no cure.

I can't remember ever having any problems with sfs on ng amigas but for a while it was quite common to happen on one of my classics a long time ago and it turned out that the harddisk was dying.

So maybe replacing the harddisk is a good idea in case that is the problem?

Good that the sources are saved

My own Amiga Sources are always asides from anything else also on my external Backup Drive which I only use for backupping and which is stored savely away then.

One year ago I found Sin OS3.x+WarpOS code on there And started making OS4 port then.

I lost a source-code really many years ago (nothing important), that should never happen again I said after that

Going to do a complete backup now

Were you able to save the sources ? If not, maybe you can share the fix about white border ?:) Or if sources saved, maybe you can send latest version to Steffen ?

Thanks !

@smf @x5000 owners

NGF/01 !
X5000 users send a mail to Tony Wyatt for the latest NGFS filesystem.

Tony's post from Hyperion's Forum below.

"For those considering an upgrade:

The latest NGFS V54.100++ uses different disk structures, so older versions can't read it and vice versa. Furthermore, if your system boot volume is formatted with the old NGFS, then you won't be able to boot it unless you upgrade the firmware also.

I can't provide new firmware as it isn't mine; however there is a version of amigaboot.ub that will read and boot both the old and the new versions of NGFS. If you want to boot from a volume formatted with the newer NGFS, you will have to install the newer amigaboot.ub firmware. If your boot volume is FFS or SFS, then you need not worry about changing the firmware.

The old and the new NGFS versions can't read each other's data as it is so different. However, there is a special "Transitional" version V54.99 that is really the newer V54.105, but also can read the older NGFS data. It can't write to an old volume, but it can read it, allowing you to copy all your old NGF\00 volumes to new NGF\01 volumes.

If you have an X5000 with the "interim" NGF\00 version and you want to upgrade to the latest NGFS (DOSType NGF\01), then pm or email me and I'll help you. This offer is only for X5000 owners with the "interim" version, and the upgrade version I will send you will not run on any other platform.
cheers
tony"

Thanks for the tip, I played a little with Snes9x and it runs fantastically, exactly how I imagined it. The FPS rates for each game are around 20-25FPS in full screen.

What I don't understand is that the roms all have to be in zip format. Doesn't this make it a little slower because the zip file in the ram has to be unpacked first? Or is it read directly from the zip file, I don't understand that and it's a bit complicated to get the roms to run.

Otherwise great job. Thanks HunoPPC

On your video donkey kong didn't looks like 50-60 fps, more like 20-25 fps.

Edit: You're right, I looked at the FPS counter at the top, which fluctuates between 55-62 FPS and not at the bottom of the bar. My mistake It was a bit confusing.

Nevertheless, the gaming experience with all roms is completely fine and I'm glad that I can use the roms in full screen, not like with WarpSnes.

Yes. This version is under SDL (SDL2, I think) and is running slow.
You can rebuild the SDL and SDL2 versions yourself from source you will get the same effect
I've done this myself as @kas1e asked about a fast port and found it doesn't make sense.
One fast port I think will be @Olle's version on native video output.
Hopefully it will be released soon

Fantastic work Huno ! it runs very fast on my X-5000.

And it is the first time that we have a version supporting the SuperFX mode !

and it is using the composite mode so kudos again and nice Christmas present from HunoPPC !

@All

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your positive feedback, it warms my heart.
Then I wanted to clarify a few small elements that may help you better understand.
Firstly the rendering is completely native (via bootygfx2 integrated statically now compositing) and not in sdl2, the only elements in sdl2 are the audio and the keyboard and joystick management.
As for the video test carried out by Maijestro, it is unfortunately completely wrong because he used Javier's gui which does not yet contain the calls for the new added functions (dead loss of 20 to 30% of speed).
You have to use my interface and launch a game with the default settings and just add full screen and fps if necessary.
In default rendering here on an x5000 with donkeykong I have 60fps without frame skips and 35% CPU usage
On an x1000 45% CPU usage for the same thing.
I think that in emulation we should be ready for x1000.
It would be good to have another video with these settings so that we can get an idea and possibly optimize later for better performance if we don't get the expected result.
Thank you in advance and soon we will have an EGL_wrap pure shaders version which will increase the fps and above all a smooth and continuous speed in full HD games (still a few things to adjust before release).
I wish you all happy holidays and good games.

Thanks for the information. As soon as I use their Optimized GUI I am unable to run ROMs. Snes9x GUI is minimized and an error message appears that the roms cannot be opened. But the roms are there and work with Snes9x-Javier.

The CPU load under AmigaOs4.1 then increases to 100% and the GUI can no longer be retrieved. The only thing that helps is a reboot. I used the standard settings. Any ideas?

I tested your version from the command line.QEMU/Pegasos emulation
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but here's a quick comparison.
On Warpsnes the music plays without lag (unfortunately I didn't record a sound), the picture as you can see between transitions is smooth and the game itself is smooth.

Snes9x - sound rips, the image is not smooth.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong ? if so let me know how I can test your version properly.

I'm sure your version works well for others and I wish them a nice game and a merry Christmas too

Indeed you are doing something wrong, use my graphical interface which uses the latest commands like -vsync etc. by default it launches the engine in degraded mode

Good use

Ps: for the moment it’s not optimized for sam440

Clearly the hardware support does not work in emulation this can be seen directly, can you show me the CPU usage to confirm that it is indeed that, if it is 100 for 100 it is done Software if it is is below it is material

Thank you very much
