Performance difference between X5000 and X5000/40 or X5040 or whatever it’s called?

Hey friends, I’m super happy with my X5000 but my FOMO has me wondering how much I’m missing by not having the most recent Cyrus board. Has anyone done a side by side comparison? I’d love to know what I’m missing here :P

I have a X5040 the 40 = 4 cores. The X5020 the 20 = 2 cores. Amiga OS4.1 only supports 1 core. I don't have a X5020 but I do have a SAM460LE and the X5040 beats the pants off it in response and CPU not taxed by Odyssey.

For instance, my SAM460LE on this website via Odyssey with remain between 98-100 the whole time I am on it. However, if I try to go to FB, rumble or YouTube, the X5040 is pegged 100%.

If you have some benchmark you would like to run, I would be happy to run on mine and post the results here. Sysmon has comparisons between systems. It doesn't have comparison between X5000 boards. Assuming the benchmark in SysMon is a X5020, my X5040 is +10.01 - 10.16% across the elements.

My X5040 2220 MHz Results VS:
SortBench Results: 1K 2k 4K 8K 16k 32k MIPS
X5000 1995. %-10.01. -9.67 - 9.75 -10.18 -10.01 -10.12. -10.19
SAM460EX 1150 %-82.81 -81.84 -83.84 -125.86 -512.67 -628.54 -91.28

Thanks! Yeah, it would be cool to compare benchmarks. I’m currently away from home and will be for the next two weeks but after that I’ll run some. I appreciate your reply.

I can't imagine there is much difference between a 5020 and 5040. With the extra cores not used on either, that 200 Mhz is nominal but I only own the 5020 so can't say for sure, but unless extra cores start getting used, and apps using the extra cores, I don't think there would be tons of extra speed. Just my 2 cents. TJ

@AmigaSociety

I agree. It is like having a V8 Muscle car that should have a 4 barrel carburetor and only has a 2 or in this case a 1 barrel
