@Vader Strangely, I have the "Best" option set, and it is still unreproducible. Nice try though :) Simon

@MichaelMerkel Yes, well at least it works locally. I can't really test much more than that, so if it doesn't work from the production box, I'm at a loss. I'll check it tommmorrow with some dummy accounts just to be sure Simon

@MichaelMerkel OK, can you try it again for me, it appears a script was in the wrong directory, and it works for me now. Many thanks Simon

@Raziel Maybe it is a problem with your video settings. What screenmode are you using?

@MichaelMerkel Hmm, I don't have any applications in the list when I log in, and adding new ones doesn't seem to work either. Chris

@Chris My fault, sorry Chris. I added the account and forgot to add the applications. I'm still writing various bits of the website currently, so until everything is finished, I'm afraid this may happen. My apologies again. Simon

@Raziel When you get the palette corruption, can you tell me how you are starting AmiUpdate, and whether the internet connection has actually come up before starting it... Simon

@Rigo Internet is up and running (don't have AmiUpdate in WBStarup anymore) when AU is started. Regardless of starting it from Icon (double click) or from AmiDock Icon (click)...after closing it, the corruption comes up for whatever program i choose

@Raziel OK, as we now know, this is related to being started iconified, so can you run the program normally, then iconify it, uniconify it, then quit. Is the corruption back again? Also, which iconify method do you use? Icon, menu, or both? Simon

Also, which iconify method do you use? Icon, menu, or both? My ToolTypes on AmiUpdate:
Quote:
(NOGFX) SERVER = www.amiupdate.net EMAILADDRESS=myemail@dress STARTICONIFIED MENU SCANDELAY = 60 KEEPUNPACKED (NOAUTOUPDATE) LOGFILE = RAM:t/au.log (PGP=pgpv) (VERBOSE)NOTE: STARTICONIFIED is () out for now
As you can see, i wrongly assumed that MENU is a useable
ToolType which is not (as i'm now aware of after RTFM).
I ought to use ICONIFYAS=MENU to make it work that way!?
I don't know which method is used when i leave out ICONIFYAS
and only use STARTICONIFIED but i assume MENU isn't used
then and only the icon remains?
(I can't see it in the Tools menu anyway using this method)
So, to sum it up, i only have the icon on Workbench when i
STARTICONIFIED

@Raziel Right, OK, we are making progress now. So to sum up: If you run the program normally, iconify, uniconify and quit, there is no corruption? But if you start the program iconified, uniconify and quit, the palette gets corrupted? Is that true? If so, I think I may be able to narrow it down. Simon
