AmyCignix and display options

Hi to all,

sorry for this topic but i have a question to do and before asking for help i tried to remind to my self how to do what i am going to ask but as I don't remember i am here looking for help..

Long time ago I used to use AmyCignix and honestly i thought it was still on my hard drive but that's not anymore.. So i reinstalled it from os4depot and everything was fine..

But I remember that it was possible to open an x11 app just double clicking on it and the app will open in front of the workbench.. I am not able to do this anymore.. Am I wrong? or it was possible to do this?

Hi nubechecorre,

To open a single AmiCygnix application, Edgar has provided a
"...standalone.bat" script file which will open that app in
a window on the Workbench.

For example, take AbiWord... If you go into the /software/
dir of AmiCygnix, then into /AbiWord-2.8/ you will see that
script file.

You can just double-click on the script and AmiCygnix will open
a configuration window where you can set how AbiWord will be
opened. Of course in the Amiga-like way of things, you can
then "Save" or "Use" how you want to use AbiWord.

In my case, I have taken these "standalone.bat" files and
dropped them AmiDock so apps like AbiWord and Gnumeric are
readilly available.

Great stuff! THANKS EDGAR!

Enjoy,

PJS
