Don't use soundblasters, they are infamous for being having hardware bugs, low quality board design and being resource heavy.
If you're feeling like a new soundcard then the best one with OS4 support out of the box is one based on the CMI8738 chipset, which are a dime a dozen on ebay.
In addition to PCI cards, they also come in PCIE formfactors, which may be preferable
as, IIRC, the PCI slots on the X5000 don't support DMA transfers.
Wish someone could correct me on that.

A quick google suggests this to be the CMI8788 found in the Asus Xonar DGX, which, if true, is by far the best option.
