Thank you for your reply and I do hope you recover soon.

I have connected my A1222+ through an ethernet based wifi repeater.

Then its connects to my home broadband router wirelessly to allow my A1222+ connected to the internet.

Works fine with no issues so far.

My Synology NAS connects to my broaband router directly to its 1 of 4 ethernet ports.

All devices are auto DHCP.

I can access my NAS via Oddyssey web-browser fine.

Question:Do you recokon I should try SMB on a direct Ethernet connection to 2 of 4 ports on my broadband router instead?

BTW, I like the PowerReboot tool you have created, it really handy to save at the dock instead of having to go to the workbench menu.

Many thanks.

Just a small update.

I thought I try another approach to getting my files transferred over from my NAS to my A1222+ and vice-versa.

I enabled simple FTP access by enabling FTP services on my NAS using port 20 or 21.

I downloaded pFTP from OS4 depot and it worked.

I appreciate all the feedback follks, I am still learning how to use the A1222+.

Trying to get Netsurf working, it has 2x problems, it needs a guigfx.library and it seem to think its not connected to the internet?

However I will create a new thread for that rather than causing a divergent topic to the original topic of this thread.

Finally got that SMB handler working on my A1222+.

Downloaded amd installed 2x apps.

1. SMB2-GUI_OS4
2. RapaGUI

Both from OS4 depot.

Use SMB-GUI_OS4 app to create an SMB handler file.

My 1st SMB2 handler file did not work.

Fiddle around with the SMB2 file until I got it working.

It is located within the Storage, DosDrivers drawer.

For anyone else having an issue getting thier NAS going.

See my example below:

Handler = L:smb2-handler
Stacksize = 40000
Priority = 5
GlobVec = -1
Activate = 1
Startup = "smb://Synology.lan/MyShareFolder VOLUME=DskStation USER=Boabster PASSWORD=DummyPassword"

In essence, the smb path is the name of your NAS, and MySharefolder is your actual shared folder on the NAS.

Volume is the name of an icon that AmigaOS4 will see it as once connected successfully, and user & password is the login into your NAS.

It worked eventually after many trials and errors on my part. :D

Hope it helps for newcomers.

Glad you got the SMB handler working.

Yeah, I'm doing better now, although I went away on holiday and after I came back I ended up with Covid. I had a post-viral fatigue which meant I was really tired after coming home from work, so not able to do anything on my computers. But, as I said, I'm doing better now.

I'm glad you like PowerReboot and find it useful.

Kind regards,

Francis

You have my sympathy, I myself was also ill with Covid 19....2 years ago and I was just like you, little strength and tired for almost 2 weeks and the simplest things were very difficult.

It's nice to read from you again and I thought you had given up your machine

No, I've definitely not given up on my machine! I've just been busy with other projects recently.

Kind regards,
