AmiUpdate 2.54 "Transfer failed" (SOLVED)

Quite a regular

On my X1000, the update of AmiSSL 5.17 fails. The log message says:


22:39:42 Starting update of 'AmiSSL-5.17-OS4.lha'



22:39:43     Error returned from downloading file 'AmiSSL-5.17-OS4.lha': Transfer failed

I see in Snoopy a successful opening of the amisslmaster.library and then constant failures when trying to open further libraries and find resident:

I am not sure if the above is the source of the failure.

This is also leading to a failure to update to IBrowse 30.8 - since it appears to be trying to do the same thing with AmiSSL in the background when trying to update that.

The installation script makes assumptions about the libraries it can find on your system, otherwise it just fails in such a manor. The error message is hardly useful either - but that is probably from the AmiUpdate tools.

I had to manually copy over a library file into Libs/AmiSSL to "trick" the installer into upgrading to 5.17.

I had to copy any one of those libraries to the directory that it failed to open.

Just can't stay away

If I remember right, I had to copy amissl_v111m.library from AmiSSL v4.12 into libs:AmiSSL/ before AmiUpdate could download from https links.

Here on my machine there seem to be no problems with the update of AmiSSL. It was successfully downloaded and installed via AmiUpdate.

There was no error message....
