NetSurf 3.11 has been released!

Like Maijestro, i downloaded and installed Netsurf 3.12 (dev) from this link:

Note, i just did a reinstallation of Amiga OS 4 using A1222+ USB recovery key.

Installed latest AmiSSL 5.16 fine.

Netsurf installed fine, no longer getting the guigfx.library alert.

It loads the Netsurf welcome links page.

All the links, error fetching page.

Previous versions, 3.10, 3.9, and 3.8, now getting this popup error:

"unable to fetch document" ???

Yet Odyssey is working fine as I type this.

I know it must be downhearting to hear continued problems and it must feel like you are about to pull all your hair out of this unsual problem but do keep trying.

When Netsurf was working it was able to load sites fine, it was good at rendering pages well, for example, Amiga.org and ROOL as an example.

I even tried latest Netsurf for the Raspberry Pi on RISC OS 5.30 it seem to work fine on that OS.but I understand they are completely different operating systems.

I downloaded and instaled Snoopy.

But i get this requester pop up.

"The snoopy cease to fuction at dos.library, v54.116, time for a new update"

Any other ideas?

Typical only major version is checked, so if you have 54 is should be success,
type “version dos.library” in shell, or check version you have using a different tool.

(At least on my AmigaONE-XE I have 54.112, 54.116 can be a beta test version)
don’t forget to install the updates from Hyperion, not just the A-EON updates. You have two updater tools, as well.

not sure when the upload will go live,

I just watched snoopy running in the background with all the stack traces flying by while I was opening up Netsurf 3.12 (dev).

I am not a programmer myself, but with some of the information appearing (rather fast), it was showing there was something not right with the default main netsurf links homepage.

I just thought to myself, what if I type the google web address manually and just search for what ever website I wanted to visit, bingo, it worked.

Just set google to default homepage, the latest netsurf build 3.12 (dev) is working but tempermental, it can lock up the entire system, a reboot is required to get A1222+ to respond.

While I understand it is a dev build, I tried BBC, Rool, RiscOS.org, Google, sometimes it can load pages fine but eventually it will lock up again.

I'll see if I can get a newer build uploaded with the fixes.

Thanks Chris the OS4 version works very well

The OS3 versions have 3 major problems:

- The first one happens on all tested OSes, i.e. the graphics of the sites are corrupted and the colours are wrong, see screenshot link

- The second affects all OS using OS3.9 with or without AfA OS extension, such as Amikit, these receive a NetSurf output Crash

- The third only OS 3.2.2, with OS 3.2.2 NetSurf works very well even if a bit slow, but if you go to the Preferences editor as soon as you move the mouse it automatically starts "in continuation" NetSurf.guide, impossible to delete and does not allow you to do anything..

Bitmap font size is 0 and I can't change it.
Prefs windows / menu get broken, when prefs window is closed.

While the installer installed the application fine.

Upon arriving at the Netsurf main links page.

Clicking on Rool, BBC, Ars, CNN, still unable to fetch page.

However if I type google.co.uk in the address bar.

Google comes up fine but sometimes it locks up completely upon clicking any google search result page.

You better off just typing the site's www address manually and directly going to the website itself than using Google.

I notice I go to Amiga.org and clicking on forum link, I get unable to fetch page.

I would say it tempermental, it can lock up system completely and a restart is required.

I do have the latest snoopy installed on my A1222+, do you need any logs from it to help you in finding out the problem for you?

But otherwise keep up the good work.

It is not from there that you change the font size, you have to do it from the small tab under 'Font Size', by default it is set to 12

Looks like there may be an issue with the prefs window under OS3, I'll have a look and see if I can figure out the problem.

Sites not using SSL seems to load, whdload.de, aminet.net etc...

Under QEmu it works great though.

Thanks for making the new 9/12 build. I just installed it on
my X5K and tried to run it.

As usual, it complained about requiring guigfx.lib and then
opened its window.

I clicked on the Slashdot link on the home page. It said
"Fetching. Processing" at the bottom and that was it.

Now it appears to be locked up. Entering Amigans URL doesn't
cause anything more to happen. Trying to quit doesn't work.

I see no GR and nothing on the serial except for this line:

[dVerify] verify timeout: Class=0x00002000 Code=0x0001 Window=0x66B8A458 Title=Welcome to NetSurf Name=(null) IMsg=0x669EB6B8

I don't know if that helps you any. Please let me know if
there's something else to test.

I tested your latest OS3 buid "NetSurf-gcc-6758.lha" and found some regression, now the old AmiSSL 111x libraries are required.

The version os3_20240912.lha worked fine with the latest "amissl_v332.library" and no other library was needed.

The 'NetSurf-gcc-6758.lha', however, works on OS 3.9, but on output the operating system becomes very slow.
