Notifications on mentions

Hello everyone,
Some time ago someone requested, if possible, to receive notifications when they are mentioned in forum posts.

Today, I found some time to implement that, and I hope you will find it useful.

So, from now on, whenever someone mentions you in a forum post, you will receive a notification as a private message or as an email, depending on how you have set, in your account, to receive them.

Also, to minimise the number of notifications, I set it to be executed only when someone creates a new post and not when an old one was edited because there is no way to see if someone was mentioned only after the edit.

Yeah, I can have a look, but I can't promise when exactly that will be available.

I would like first to experiment on upgrading the website to the latest version of Xoops. That will help:

1. to keep the website as updated as possible, increasing its security
2. to resolve issues on Polls so that they can work fine and people use it.
3. to be able to use newer versions of PHP, maybe even v8.x
4. change the module that is used for the news, to reduce the needed maintenance and obsolete code

But the next version brings plenty of changes, and it might take some time.

As you can see, there are plenty of things that I need to work on. But I promise you that I will have a look at what you requested. It might happen out of the blue, like the notifications for the mentions :D
