Try with IOS argument this seems to work here also with higher resolutions. But i have not tested a lot Videos.

With the PCLIENT set to ANDROID YT.rexx is working (for some links) with Mplayer-nonaltivec and Emotion on my X5K. Its not

Yes you're right. No audio with the HLS files with both emotion and dvplayer.

Maybe that's because YT has the sound in a different stream for high resolution. I am not sure about DVplayer, but Emotion doesn't support separated video and audio streams.

The only resolution that has both is the 360p.

That's what I have seen while I was working with YT API and aiostreams, but I might be wrong. So, please do not take my comment as a fact or true.

I just tried with a few videos. 360p HLS file also has no audio with none of them.

Yeah, I also tried 360p and same thing : no sound.

It's ok with 360p videos with ANDROID parameter but not with IOS one.

I do not doubt that you are right.

I tried the following with aiostreams youtube script

youtube.py -u "https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZcVdGJO6mcE"

And the video has the following resolutions


The one with ID 18 is the one that plays both video and audio. If I am not wrong, the stream that is used to play the video is a HLS one, but I might be completely wrong or we are talking about different IDs.

Please, let me know if you are talking about the same resolution ID

I would love to give you more information, but yt.rexx finds no video links with your video url.

Yeah the ANDROID option works, but gives no HLS links, so the MP4 file is downloaded to ram, which can take a couple of seconds more to download, so I prefer the HLS links.

The IOS client returns HLS streams that have the video and audio split. That is supported only if using the Play Video or autoplay options, but doesn't work in Emotion.

MEDIACONNECT is no longer working, but WEBSAFARI is another alternative that also returns combined video+audio HLS streams and is compatible with Emotion. Edit TagOrder to remove "18" or move it to the end.

For non-HLS, ANDROID is working with a 30 second expiry, and WEBEMBEDDED should work again on the next release, but not right now. I'm looking into any other options.

Edit: IOS DUALPLAY is another non-HLS option if you're using mplayer. There are DashTagVid and DashTagAud options in the .cfg. The default is 360p if those settings are missing.

Yes, WEBSAFARI works with HLS links.
The strange part is, it won't work with vevo-music videos. With these no links are found.
With ANDROID, vevo music video link is found.

I tried 3 different VEVO music videos with WEBSAFARI without a problem. Can you be more specific?

It works for me like with “MEDIACONNECT” which was important to me. I'm not necessarily interested in Vevo music videos.

Everything I want to watch via Invideos works again and in 1080p.

Of course we can do further tests, just let me know.

Mozzerfan probably wants music videos to work though, so I'm interested in which ones didn't work.
