I got the impression trixie, was the person working on it, if so, he probably knows better.

No, I've never touched (or seen) the OctaMED code

Our developer tested the A600GS preloaded with A-EON's OctaMED v8 and a USB to Midi cable. it succesfully played through his MIDI equipment and he was able to edit the Midi generated tunes.

My understanding is that the underlying emulator on the A600GS translates serial MIDI to USB. This won't work on the AmigaOne, where OctaMED really needs to be rewritten to use the CAMD library.

I've seen the latest videos of Octamed being demonstrated on A600GS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08wnYfD7Hco).

The interface shown on video looks like the same as old 1.03c version, but on Trevor's Amiwest 2021 slide interface presented looks much more modern. (See screenshot here: http://densho.fi/jakorasia/octamed/octamed-alpha.png )
Also the layout of the windows with tabs, icons and such doesn't look familiar to me when compared to original version.

Are there two versions of the program to be released or does it take advantage of modern look on the new systems automatically? Or is that screenshot of some old version which development was stopped?

I believe it's just a mock-up.

@trixie

It is/was just an "empty" GUI only, but "usable", no med player code (backend) at all, just a GUI (frontend).
