Help with connecting Ax Edge, Widi USB, & OS4 port of Bars and Pipes, and eventually Octamed

Hello!

I have a X5040 and am just trying to get BnP and Octamed SS 1.03b to recognize my Roland Ax Edge, and I also have a Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 too, but am more interested in the Edge. Both are usb class compliant.

I use a Widi Master on the synth and a Widi Bud USB and the X5040 recognized it and I used the CAMD tool to verify that the keyboards are working on OS4. My hurdle is I cannot figure out how to get it to have an interface with BnP 1.0 for OS 4.1. I'm using the usbmidi driver.

I read about how to get Octamed SS running through emulation and it does run but says it can't find the serial port, but one issue at a time lol

I have a few different MIDISPORT 2x2's (midiman and m-audio) that are supposed to work well with OS4, but I'd really like to have it be wireless. That being said, I have regular midi cables to use a MIDISPORT if that's the only way I can use the two programs. I've attempted to use the widi hardware with the MIDISPORT and it isn't having it either.

Back in the 90's I had a full sized casio synth hooked up to my A1200, so I may have forgotten many things about this process, but I'm sure I can use the software once I get over the hardware hurdle I'm facing right now.

I'll start commenting on the Octamed Soundstudio issue first. If emulation fails, you can wait for the new Octamed which will be released this year for x5k (https://wiki.amiga.org/index.php?title=OctaMED). It will support CAMD MIDI devices and AHI directly.

Haven't used Bars and pipes for a looooooong time but if there a setting you can choose which MIDI interface to use for in and outs? No idea about wireless midi, but if it works with standard midi cable first, then it must be some kind of problem with wireless :)
