Here it is the traditional time-lapse Christmas card design in my HDR paint program SketchBlock.
This year I started a little differently doing an initial sketch in PPaint 7 on the A600GS on which I have been working for the last 2 and bit years. After the sketch I save it to the RAM: disk on my SAM flex using Amiga NetFS and pick it up from there on the X1000 in SkwtchBlock.
Back ground music is recorded live single take in slight customised version of AudioEvolution 4 again on the X1000 but not at the same time as the sketch
Final editing in blender on the X1K.
Merry Christmas to all, musicians , music fans and amiga geeks alike!
Very good to see the variety of Amiga apps in action and its versatility too, as I was not aware of using NetFS can allow files to be save to RAM then - somehow or while I understand it on the same network - it can then appear on another Amiga system RAM too?
Normally I would be using SMB to transfer files between Amiga systems but did I understood that what NetFS can do?
NetFS is a native Amiga protocol, SMB is from the MS world.
But yes, NetFS can do the same, but usually better, since it knows about the Amiga file attributes etc.
What you do is mount (using the NetMount command in NetFS) the other system's drive (e.g. the RAM: on the Sam flex) as a drive on your local system and give it a name, e.g. SamsRam:, and then just copy to it as if it were a local drive. Then you can mount the same RAM: on a third system (in broadblues' case the X1000) and copy it from that mount to your local disk.
The only thing I don't get is why broadblues didn't copy it in one go directly to the X1000 by mounting a drive on that to the A600GS - or vice versa?
I have the SAMs ram disk mounted on demand on the X1000 and by default on A600gs AmiBench. This is my default development setup, I use the SAM as a central server in this regard (also MKShare runs there, with WIP arm linux client in the background on my developmemnt version of the a600gs) The SAM also has an FTP server running for transferring to the laptop in the network.
There a whole different suit of perl programs that handle direct communication with the a600gs arm back end when developing code (edited on codebench on the X1K compiled on the a600gs itself) these do go direct without the central SAM hub getting involved.
Enjoyed watching your video as always, thank you and Merry Christmas to you too! SketchBlock is great product on NG Amigas, I just wish I have more time and less everyday distractions to use it more.

Ah, then it makes sense, of course.
In the meantime I also found time to sit back and enjoy your video and blues - great as usual; thanks! And Merry XMas to you too.
