Has anyone had any experience with Basilsik 2 on new NG machines?
I just can't get Basilisk 2 to boot MacOs 7.5 or MacOs 8.0. I have tried with ISO files and the Rom was selected for the respective OS version 7.x “Mac IIsi” or for MacOs 8.x “Quadra 700/900 PB140170”. I tried to mount the whole thing as a boot disk, without success. I selected “diskimages.device” Unit 0 as the CD device and checked CDBoot.
If I have done something wrong or there is a better way, please let me know.

However It works here on X1000, on "X5020" (or so I remember, I don't have the machine here to test it right now) and on Sam440-flex.
The version on os4depot with the timestamp 2020.
I tried it on my X5000 and no matter what I do it does not boot MacOs 7.5 or 8.x as an ISO file. I know this is not very helpful, but maybe someone can describe the exact steps on how to do it?

ahhhh thanks it was a Rom problem with "Quadra 650" it works for Mac Os8.x. However, the Option Gfx mode Window compoition only gives me a black window. With Gfx mode Window it seems to work fine.

I had a bit of a play around a few months back. The version currently on OS4 Depot is unusable on my X5000 - I can't select files with the gadgets and the device names are hardcoded so I couldn't select the CD drive (I have a real copy of MacOS 8 which I bought from someone many years ago). Thankfully I still had an older version and was able to get that running, albeit with a hardfile I downloaded from somewhere. Couldn't get TCP/IP working though.
The trick was that I had to select the option "System Write Pixel Arry" in the Graphics Render mode so that "Window composition" also works.
However, Basilisik 2 crashes every time I quit. If you want I can provide you with a GR. There seem to be problems with the graphics.library. Tested with 16/32bit screens. Are you still working on Basilisk 2?
Which output solution should I choose for the emulation of MacOs ? Somewhere I read that it runs a bit faster in 16 bit mode.
Otherwise Basilisk 2 is really fun, I will now try to install MacOs8.1 on a virtual HD and try out a few games.

I've had Basilisk booting for a long time off a MacOS 7.6.1 system hard disk file I used to use with Shapashifter. I'd imagine there are examples of the installed images floating around the innerwebs.
For the sake of performance and saving the source images & Amiga drives, I've long run a script that copies the MacOS system image to RAM: before running Basilisk (Mac/Basilisk crashes can kill your image file(s)).
I saw a comment I didn't understand about not being able to specify volumes... I've got the System (in RAM:) plus App and Data volumes specified on the "Disk" tab in Basilisk and they all seem to appear fine.
Unfortunately, I've never gotten "shared directory" access to work without a quick visit to the Grim Reaper.
AFAIK, no version of Baslisk has ever engaged the ethernet support that Shapeshifter had. In Shapeshifter I used to run the "VLink" virtual ethernet drivers pair to get flawless net access. While Olaf tells me VLink should work out of the box with Roadshow, Basilish does not seem to use it.
Without file or net access to the outside world, there's only so far you can go with Basilisk. I really wish the development had gotten it to maturity. Any chances?

Running "disk aid" tool fixes your disk.. you should find it on Macintosh Garden, or system7today
the corruption is not something i can't do anything about. it's importent to shoutdown macos from the menu, before closing Basilisk II. (Thats a fature of MacOS, that you should never pull the power plugg.)
Shared volume should work, I have to ram: incase I get a crash. if that does not work for you, you can create a iso file, and mount it as a cd.
"ethernet support"
It seems to me the CPU emulation it easting too many CPU cycles, causing the network emulation code to be too slow. Shapeshifter does have problem because it does emulate CPU, Shapeshifter only emulates the graphics, disk and so on. I also think something Is different about sana2 in roadshow.

Perhaps you mean me?
I can't get Basilisk II v 1.0 to select a hardfile or CD iso. When I select one, it appears in the UI as 0 bytes.
