You'll have to make sure the controller supports Directinput.
AmigaOS support normal USB HID compliant controllers (also known as "Directinput"),
whereas most third-party controllers work internally as Xbox controllers, which uses Microsoft's wierd propritary XUSB protocol (aka "xinput").
iirc MorphOS has drivers for Xinput, I don't think OS4 does.
Logictech's Dual Action controllers seems to have alot of fanfair, alot of them still being in use for 10+ years.
They're sold as the
f310 (wired) and
f710 (wireless),
they both have a dipswitch for DirectInput/Xinput mode.

These also use hall-effect joysticks which are frictionless and should pretty much last forever.

Edit2: Seems like that only the bluetooth version uses hall-effect joysticks, wired version uses potentiometers for the joysticks
