Please let us know when you get a reply. I've sent an e-mail myself the other day about a failed purchase in AmiStore, but have not received an answer.
It is great news! I'm glad that I could be helpful! RadeonHD, oh I was thinking your target will be RadeonRX. But I want to know what connection for video do you use HDMI/DVI or maybe VGA? VGA is the last one that I have not checked and HDMI/DVI was not working for driver RadeonHD v5.14 instant freeze after boot to the desktop. So it was the straight way to RadeonRX and it's ok.
For which application did you send an email to Amikit, because I bought AmiPhoto like several of us and did not receive a serial number!
I sent an email to Amisphère (no response for more than a week!) as well as to Alinea-Computer who replied to me that Alinea-Computer had provided serial numbers for AmiPhoto but Amistore did not provide them not!
Apart from collecting the money that's all they do!
Same for the Hyperion forum, I would like to participate in the forum but no response even with registration!
If anyone here has contact with all these people, it would be nice to give a kick in the anthill to let them know that I think a lot of people will arrive with the A1222 and the X5040 like me!
Please, do somebody have information about possibility of RadeonHD for A1222+? As Hans suggested, I asked several times on A-Eon/Amigakit public contacts, also on AAA Technology where I buyed my A1222+ with no answer.
Or please, if somebody have private contact to A-Eon or Amigakit, can you ask them and let me know information by PM?
I am now testing A1222+ for my new article, and for example HD Southern islands cards can be used with linux and AmigaOS, but without RadeonHDv5 there is no video acceleration.
Maybe RadeonHD v5 for A1222+ will never exist, but such info is also valuable.
AmigaOS3: Amiga 1200 AmigaOS4: Micro A1-C, AmigaOne XE, Pegasos II, Sam440ep, Sam440ep-flex, AmigaOne X1000 MorphOS: Efika 5200b, Pegasos I, Pegasos II, Powerbook, Mac Mini, iMac, Powermac Quad
Forget about VDPAU acceleration with Radeon HD Driver 5.x, it doesn't work as expected.
Hans never managed to find where the problem is but with an AmigaOne X1000/X5000, you will never achieve more than 720p videos (and there should no be too many movements in the video or it will stutter). And 720p videos are already playbale with CPU only on X1000/X5000 so useless using it.
I bought Radeon HD Driiver 5.x for X1000 and for Sam460 but I quickly replaced my SI cards for RX ones and it changed everything regarding video acceleration.
The only advantage of buying the Radeon HD driver is to support Hans' work on everything else.

Yes I know. X1000 is capable to play such videos on CPU only. But v5 has also GART, which improves games performance. And X1000 cannot use RX cards for firmware output + bootmenu, i need it for dualboot with linux. I have there HD7970 card + RadeonHD v5, it works fine.

This is also relevant reason. On A1222+ I need Radeon v5 for similar reason like with X1000 - RX card is not supported by linux, so HD7xxx is only possibility how to use both systems. And A1222 without Radeon v5 can play 720p videos only with framedrop. So v5 should be fine.
I can understand that it's not worth releasing Radeon v5 for A1222+ - there are few customers. But I'm just a bit disappointed that no one is answering questions. And answer can be very simple: RadeonHD v5 for A1222+ ( is in plan for (near|far) future | was cancelled | was not developed )
