Ciao Mason & Ken,

it would be nice, if you two could comment on this...

Personally, you two are my iconartistsfavourites. Each with his drawbacks and advantages. ;)
Well, I do think you stiles, to fit together, so it is easy to merge your icons.
Just for two (AFAIK)exeptions:

1) the drawer style
2) the prefs-logo

So I wonder...

1) as you release default drawer icons, could you also release the "content-image for them separatly, so the user could make it's own drawers, using the prefered drawerBG-style?

2) Could you negotiate, to use the same prefs-logo, on the same position in the icon etc. So we can nicely mix the icons? Don't know, if there is need for other typed icons.

I hope you don't fear to lose your identities. Think for the user it woould be nice, though just details, it could make the look smoother. :)

Hope t hear from you. Thanks in advance.

CU,
Mario

While that's an interesting idea, it's not really practical.

Both sets are basically completed at this point. Personally, I don't have any plans to paint another set.

However -- a while back, I painted a complete set of my icons with his drawer style (if that makes any sense) -- but that got derailed when Hyperion changed the icon format.

Outrage! It would be like asking Monet to work with Picasso!

Hi,

well, I thought it would be logical, that the single icon parts would be available on the painters systems. So they could be used in other icons, with reappearing content.
If so, why not share those bits.
Think Matt did that onces with his original glowicons. I remeber cutting and pasting for my private use. :)

And for the prefs-logo-position, it's really though luck, that this changed...

CU,
Mario

PS: @Mickey: Well, my CV3D is working with Picasso, too. And they never where real friends.

Very nice idea, but as Ken said, not practical. We both have our individual style which is hard to merge.

The Glowicons by Matt where a different aera, as they where painted as plain bitmaps with a single transparence. The new icons with alpha channel, that is used now, needs much more work than just copy and paste.

Well, for drawers merging wouldn't be the problem, I am not speaking about merging stuff for regular icons (not really ;)).
But you are right, the alpha stuff still may be the problem.
Maybe I can convince you (both :)) to make two drawer versions and convince Ken to replace the prefs-logo... maybe not. ;)
Well, I can try.

BTW, I just read on the German mag "ct", there there even exists alpha for 8bit PNG. I wonder, if this couldn't be used to improve performance. Think I'd need a coder to anser that question. :)

Hi @padrino

"integrated enchancements" was the Microsofts argument to the Federal court as the gavel decended on thier heads in the IE trials a fews years back!
I'm not sure what it was really all about, but the freedom of chaos was enforced by the US government!!

Why are you attempting to impose a 'rule' on the icon artists of the community? Your 'logical' thinking isn't in the interest of pd, but personal. My English is crap too, sorry!

You should look up the definition of "internet troll". Yours is wrong. A troll is not someone you disagree with.

You got your answers, what more do you want?

@Helge

Well, I am not imposing(!) anything...
I was aking, suggesting, and it was rejected. Nothing more.
So, if someone says I would be imposing, this is trolling to me, as he didn't seem to get what and how I asked for (it). And just simply like to attack others.
There is no need to allege me, that I'd try to put (some) pressure on anybody.

But if asking is not wanted here, well, I save my time and better spend it somewhere else.
