All this sound strange but test register with another temporary mail adress
and let the admins clean up later with your primary mail adress.

Edit: Look above and try again.

Not according to my best memory. I am pretty sure the forum has always had a different login from the main site.

As for the engine changing, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was just a new version - plus the colours changed.
