The day after tomorrow - just before Easter - my newest game will be released.
This game is a port of Warcraft 2 (or rather, the open source reimplementation "Stratagus").
In contrast to the earlier "Version 2.1" port of Stratagus:
- Based on "Latest-Git," i.e., version 3.3.3 - Full support for music and intro videos - Bug fixes for countless bugs (including showstoppers like crash bugs). Version 3.3.3 is also much more "complete" in terms of Warcraft 2 compared to 2.1 - Level editor included - Optimized for a number of different systems (specific EXEs for x1000, x5000, G3, Sam 440, Sam 460, and A1222) (Note: A1222 version without intro videos) - The game can be installed directly from the "Classic" PC CD (DOS or Windows) without the need for a PC. Installing the Battle.Net Edition or the Gog Edition (the Gog Edition is no longer available for purchase since December) is also possible, but you need a PC decompressor as an intermediate step. Direct installation on Amiga is only possible from the Classic CD. - No manual tinkering with the installation is necessary; everything is done conveniently via the installer. - Installation can install both the base game and the "Beyond the Dark Portal" add-on CD, which is also supported (currently both games are single-player only, the campaign is fully supported). - Graphics optimization via GL (optional).
Minimal specs: Sam 440/Pegasos/MicroAmigaOne or comparable, AmigaOS 4.1 with a minimum of Update 2.
Before anyone asks - I'll try a 68k version again at some point; I'm still struggling with bugs in the C compiler/Mathelib.
The game (without the PC version) is available from the Alinea online shop for €12.99.
I ordered an hour ago and received a download link with the status "waiting to be activated" or something like that...Now it has changed the status to "Your Download has expired or your Link has been canceled."...
First time I've ordered a download version of a game from Alinea before...is this normal?
EDIT: Download is working now.I'm going to install and test out Warcraft 2 on my a1222 machine right away :D

Note there might be an update later were the intro Videos also work on A1222. Did not make it into the release. People who already bought will be able to download the update by just redownloading the link.
I’d really appreciate any help I can get. I managed to get the game up and running and it looks great, but I’ve spent the last hour or so trying to get the music working without any luck.
First, I tried installing it from the original CD. During installation, I got a message saying that if I’m using the original CD version, I need to manually rip the audio tracks to WAV files to get the music working, or alternatively install the game from the Battle.net CD version.
Since I wasn’t able to rip the music from the original CD (my Amiga CD music ripper couldn’t detect any audio tracks), I deleted that version and installed it again from the Battle.net CD instead, as the installer recommended for enabling music. I also did all the “PC stuff” and the installation went fine, but I still don’t get any music in the game.
Bit of a bummer, honestly. From the product description, I got the impression that the installer would take care of everything for me without thinkering, so I was surprised that I still had to find a method to get the music files manually. I’m a bit foggy-headed today, so trying to figure out a special method to rip the music is a bit overwhelming at the moment.
Does anyone have any tips? Or has anyone already ripped the music to WAV format and would be willing to share it with me (or the entire music folder for the game)? The music is such a huge part of the experience, and the game feels really empty without it.
I’ll be happy to post some screenshots and video once everything’s up and running properly. 😊
Thanks in advance!

Update...I've now spent the whole evening on this. Hopefully the 3rd version of the game will give me better luck after trying the wc2 classic cd and battle.net cd without getting any music in game or been able to rip the music from the cd with different software. I found out that I also bought the gog version of warcraft 2 earlier...so I tried to install this version by following the instructions. But still no music at all.
Alinea says the following "Iconic game music and not just sound effects (the music files are only installed with the Warcraft 2 Classic CD and the Battle.net CD, but can be copied manually afterwards when using the Gog version)." Does that mean I will find the music files in the gog version and have to move them manually to the music foler on my amiga installation? I don't seem to be able to find them anywhere in the gog installation on my pc to copy them to my amiga installation..I really need help here... I have tried all 3 version supportet by the installation program now
Rip the cd on a pc and reencode it with nero as mixed mode. Then run the installer with the new iso. Then you get music.
Alternatively rip the music files separately, name them appropriately and copy them to wc2.data/music of the music-less installation. Format of the ripped files should be wav for a1222, for non-a1222 should be ogg.
If you have a fitting cd(non-red-book mixed mode) The installer will do the ripping for you through ffmpeg.
Battle.net cd:
Contains the music as wav files and the installer converts them to ogg (or directly uses the wav for A1222)
If there are it could be an issue of the cfg file for music, maybe i made a mistake in the last update to the installer in the a1222 section? If this is the problem i can fix it.
There are a lot of different versions of the game. Possible that some have the music differently.
That you do not see music tracks on the classic Cd is basically a driver issue. For myselves i fixed this by reencoding the cd into a more amigafriendly format.
Note as to classic cd install it skips the music ripping on a1222 Due to no spe version of ffmpeg available. So on a1222 music only works in two ways:
- use battle.net cd (should depack the wav files, at least with my version of Battle.net cd this works) - or rip and convert on either a pc or a non-spe Os4 hardware and then copy the music over to wc2.data/music directory. My a1222 betatesters told me the music replay works on a1222, just the conversion doesn’t (and on a Battle.net cd no conversion needed as it includes the music in wav format)
Thansk for the reply...what name should i name them appropriately? I just got them ripped from the cd with my amiga software and they are now called "unknown artist - Untitled XX.wav"...I used your installer again and used the battle net cd with the mpq1 og mpq2 folder i made on the pc. After it asked for the folder for the music files...and it copied it over to the music folder, but with the standar name "unknown artist - Untitled XX.wav"...so no music in game still

This is the content in the music folder if i do a clean install with the battle net cd, and choose "no" when asking if i have a folder with the music files in wave format.
Note as to classic cd install it skips the music ripping on a1222 Due to no spe version of ffmpeg available. So on a1222 music only works in two ways:

Looks like the version of battle net cd i got does not work on my machine with music....Ok, if i install with the standard original cd and after i ripp the audio tracks on my pc and move the wave tracks to the music folder one the amiga...what nanme should i call them?
