X5000 reboot loop (solved)
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

See User information
Yesterday my x5000 seems to have failed and I don't know the reason yet and need urgent help.

My x5000 hangs in a kind of permanent reboot loop, I have not changed anything on the hardware.

What I have tried so far:

- booting with only one ram bar alternating
- removed all usb devices and tried to boot
- tried to boot from recovery USB stick

Nothing has helped, I still get into the UBoot menu with ESC, but here there is an error message “Timeout poll on interrupt endpoint” which is constantly repeated and so I can not make any input in the firmware because at some point the input menu shifts.

I hope I have not broken anything or it is not a total failure. If anyone knows what else I could try please let me know.

I had a very similar situation here too, and it happens every now and then.
Here it was because AmiDock needed to be connected to the internet (because of Dockies) and it wouldn't let the OS booth fully, sometimes then it rebooted.

Your Live USB should not need any internet connection, so it seems to hang before the OS boots. I would really try as LiveForIt suggested.

Maybe a power outage froze your Router/modem?

I would do the following and observe between the steps:

1. Turn off the Computer, preferably switch off the PSU but leave the cable connected wall plug cable connected because of ground.
2. Discharge from Static
3. Disconnect every external cable not strictly needed (Ethernet, USB)
3. Disconnect every device from the board apart the monitor
4. Turn On the computer
5. And observe if it wants to boot

Repeat adding the devices back. I'd connect the Keyboard first.

And check the battery.

Interrupt endpoint reminds me of USB and this error appears in U-Boot's ehci driver so maybe try disconnecting USB devices, one of them may be causing problems or there's something with the USB setup of the machine?

I had a issue like this when I started playing with early boot and trying to get AmigaOS and MorphOS installed and dual booting. It seems after shutting off the system it kept trying to and wanting that USB Stick that had MorphOS on it connected to boot. Without it it refused.

Trial and error I finally had it allowing me into early boot again and selecting the Amiga OS button to boot from and then all went back to normal.

Wonder if it saw a USB stick with an OS on it and want's that back or else.

Just an idea is all.

How about doing a USB Reset in command line from the early boot screen? Pretty sure I did a number of those when I started having an issue like this.

TJ

*as a side note, in my dual boot X5K, the system remembers what OS it last booted to so if that was MorphOS, I don't need to get to early boot again unless I want to go back to Amiga OS to select it. So to me it seems to me it no longer sees a USB stick it wants to try and boot from and is refusing until it sees it again.

Its a USB issue.

Unplug your USB mouse and keyboard. There will be the problem.

@all

Thanks for all the tips and help. My beloved X5000 is working again. yeahooooo

There was no usb or hardware problem....the problem was my HDMI recorder which was connected directly via HDMI to the graphics card of the X5000. The HDMI recorder crashed during the night for whatever reason and sent this interrupt to the X5000.

In addition, I also crashed the kickstart because I wanted to test something Restarted the HDMI recorder and I was able to boot the recovery USB stick via Uboot without any problems and repair my kickstart.

Thanks guys problem solved
