I have recently uploaded a collection of screenshots describing the devolopment of Cinnamon Writer. The feature set have been frozen for version 0.5 and the version is expected to be sent to beta testers toward the end of the year.

I agree with the previous speakers! This is a promising project.

Is the file format is decided yet? Please note that PageStream's IFF file format documentation is already released to the public.
It is a very comprehesive format with great compatibility. The older versions simply skip the new features when loading a document, that is the way what should follow all large applications.

To use this format for Cinnamon Writer would allow easy exchange of documents for the DTP application which is running (will run) on several platforms.

Bye!

Talking about IFF, it would be nice to have an updated version, with 64-bit size fields, and possibly attributes. IFF file parsing is much easier than XML and the files are more compact.

I am planning on sending this version to the betatesters toward the end of the year and then releasing the public version in the beginning of next year (of course a bit later if major bugs are found).
Cinnamon Writer is planned to be free. But people are encouraged to give donations if they find the program usable and would like to see improvements. I have no hope of becoming rich from this project, but I will never refuse a free beer :)

Got a paypal donate account?

As to betatesting, remember the old motto, if it isn't Mikey C tested and passed, it ain't ready

Seriously, I can break anything, I think I am cursed!

There is a link on my homepage desler.be. However, unless people really wants to give me beer (mmmmmm... Beer...), I would feel better if people waited until they tried the new version when I publish it. :)

Very old thread resurrected, but the topic still stands

What is news?
I'd like to team up as a tester or maybe just a user, i like the style of CW and want to finally get rid of the dated and buggy AmigaWriter.

Though some features i still miss to be able to work with it in a useable manner

Can't you share some of your cookies (i bet Mikey_C will be delighted)
