Quite a regular

See User information
Hi Amigans
My problem is that I have nearly 50 PSX games and I don't know well how can I burn it and run succesfully on FPSE.
Does anybody have same problem?
And what about burning CD32 games and then run succesfully
on the CD32 console?
Help needed!

Only with Disc at Once mode?
I will try it on a CD-RW disc.
Good feedback.

As far as i know it should give an accurate copy of a cd. Never tried it before though so not sure if its enough!

Someone told me here or on another forum that the CD32 doesn't accept burned CDs.
Is this true?

Never tried an cd32 before so i don't know really know.

CD32 games do not have any copy protection on them at all.

Burned games do work on a CD32 but you really need to burn them at the lowest speed as possible recommended at 2X. Certain brands of CDRs may have problems as well.

What are the recommended brands of CDs to burn for the
CD32?

CD32 cannot read CDRW's

Its OK with CD-R for data CD's
Its picky about CD-R's for VCD Disc's using the FMV Cart

Backup Instructions:

Start MakeCD (3.2 or higher).
Select the menu item Tools - Copy CD...
In the MakeCD: CD-Copy window change the following settings (all other settings should be left default):

Options
Base dir Enter/Select a CD-Image Directory
Temporary Images Use image file
Audio file format CDDA (= only data, no header)
Delete file Immediately or Never
Write Mode Disc-at-Once
Data Format Format of the Writer
Scan for indices Checked
Read ISRCs Checked

When ready click Copy CD... to read the CD info.

NOTE:

If you are backing up a multiple track PSX CD and you are not sure whether the format of your writer is "raw block contents" or "cooked user data" make sure that the Data Format is set to Raw Block Contents.

When the CD-Writer does not support this mode by default, it will take a fair amount of CPU power as MakeCD has to emulate this mode internally.

Now the CD information is gathered. This may take some time to complete!
In the MakeCD: write window change Write mode (DAO) to Test mode off and change Fix to CD-R.
When ready click Start to create the imagefile & burn the CD.

NOTE:

It is also possible to set the Write mode (DAO) to Test mode on, when the Test burn is finished change it to Test mode off and press Start to brun the CD-R for real.

On the options Scan for Indices and Read ISRCs may I
mark the boxes to be checked both options by MakeCD
or may I leave it unmarked?

I have done all the steps you give me here and after the
burning it does not work with FPSE.The game was Medal of Honor. This CD gives me errors on reading so I have to pad with 0 to terminate the CD.
Does this affects the final result?

In Advanced Options I have:-

BaseDir Path_for_my_temp_files:
Startblock Blank
Cat Number Blank
Writemode DAO
DAO Format - Format of the Writer
Audio CD Start 00:00 / 0

Then do an edit / append complete CD

Use Image File
CDDA
Immediatly
Scan for indices - yes
index pause 0
Read ISRCs - yes

Click appendCD

when its scanned the disc, click create image files.
This will dump the Data and audio tracks onto your HD.

Then either click write tracks to burn it to a CD-R
or come back later and use edit / append image files to load the ripped tracks back in.

Some types of disks cannot be backed up:-
They give read errors due to the protection methods on the CD, MakeCD will chew on these for Days and still not complete a backup image file.
The way to get round this in MakeCD is to backup the CD on the fly but you need two CD drives for that.

Padding with Zeros can effect the outcome.
At some point the blocks you padded with zeros will be loaded. It could be that your padding the Game.exe with zeros or just a game sample / texture etc.

I don't know what is a PPF patch and neither where to get it.
If Medal of Honor is protected maybe I could try to burn some other games.
Other issue I found on OS 4.0 is that FPSE freezes my Workbench after exiting the first game I load so I have to reboot. That's very annoying, what can I do?

The problem is that when I try to burn from CD to CD it
refuses to work with audio files as it says that the CDDA reading is not supported. It accepts data but no audio.
I am so confused...
What have I do to burn my Playstation games?
