I have a problem with AmiUpdate. It can scan my system just fine and AmiUpdate downloads the files in question but it can't update them. AmiUpdate managed to update itself though I get an error message which says that it can't open the icon of the installerscript and then it tells me that I have to install the updates manually. Any tip on how I can correct the problem?

@Niolator Is it the Diskimage_device that's not updating? I get that problem also. As far as I can tell it's up to the program's author to fix that problem...

@Valiant No, it is several MUI-classes, librarys and drivers that isn?t updated. I think it is 7-8 of them in total.

@Niolator It is up to the developer to supply the AutoInstall script which does the installation for you. All AmiUpdate does in run that script after downloading. If something goes wrong, AmiUpdate tells you to install it manually. Contact the author(s) of the packages to get them fixed. There is nothing wrong with AmiUpdate itself.

Oh, so that?s why. Thanks for the answer. Doing it manually is not a problem, I just felt lazy at the moment.

@Niolator Just FYI, if you check the log that AmiUpdate creates, you will see that each entry is listed, and the check for the script is shown, along with the result. The log can be found in "RAM Disk:AU_Log" unless the location has been changed in the tooltypes Simon

@Rigo
I don't see it on:
http://www.amiupdate.net/index.php?page=downloads Only the base 1.75 release seems availible, other links are TestAutoInstall program, Alternative AmiUpdate icon for AmiDock, AmiUpdate icon by PEB and A PGP executable for use with AmiUpdate ...

For example, the AutoInstall script for MPlayer should go in MPlayer's directory, right?

@samo79 The updates are not available to download directly from the website anymore. Just run AmiUpdate and it should find the latest version of itself. You will be notified either in the startup check, or in the main list after scanning the system. All this, and more, is mentioned in the documentation available. Simon

@samo79 You've already got it, why does it need to be on the OS4 CD? Simon

@samo79 Well, that is something that has yet to be determined, but as for putting it on the CD, no, I'm afraid not. Simon
