OS4 Problems for classic amiga 1200

Got a new one now.

OS4.0 installed but viewable only on a TV.
Using a Mediator.

No PCI cards found.
Wasn't sure if I was supposed to install the Mediator drivers though.

Haven't yet so may try that next.

During the installation have you chosen the voodoo pci ?

Check the sys:devs/monitors if there is a voodoo icon inside.. maybe the installer didn' t copy it..

if not, copy it from storage to devs/monitors..
If it is present but not voodoo resolution is available in screenmode prefs, check the kicklayout1200 file
in sys:kickstart and chek if the graphicpci.card is uncomment if not, uncomment it and also the 3dfxvoodoo.chip..

Installing the Mediator System files for Graphics has sorted me out.

how you did it ? how do you procede ? if the graphics file and the voodoo works then work also che pci card..

You installed the mediator system files or the mmcd files ( MultimediaCDFiles ? )

Made a bit of a mistake, just recovering a backup.

so you use the mediator files but you are on amiga os 3.9 ?

Mediator files on OS4.

Tried again just installing mediator system files, without configuration.

Picked Voodoo screen and tested it.
Worked fine so saved it.
Now machine locks up after loading.

Could you how you installed the mediator's files on what you installed ? MMCD or Mediator System files or both ?

Your description (No PCI cards listed by ShowConfig)
implies that OS4 does not recognize your version of
the Mediator. The Elbox drivers do recognize the board,
so you can try to get it working with them.

See it positive, you dont have to worry about possible
conflicts between OS4 PCI drivers and Elbox PCI drivers
and the Elbox drivers support more cards.
Or see it negative when the Elbox drivers are not stable
yet and you cant display bootmenu on the gfx board.

Rogue told me that if you wish to use the elbox driver you have to disable from kicklayout the pcigraphic.card and 3dfxvoodoo.chip.. maybe is this that look up your machine..

Tried that, didn't work.
Used the latest Elbox drivers and that did the trick.

So to use the elbox driver i have to install only the latest mediator system files and not the MMCD right ? that's for the graphic card.. if i wish to install and use also the soundblaster and fastethernet i have to install also the MMCD right ?

I used the MMCD.
Have only installed the system drivers.
Nothing else.
No graphics/sound/Fastethernet etc.
Haven't even run the config program.

I am reinstalling (Again)
I had been testing OS4.0 on a different HD.
Went back to my normal HD and the screen situation isn't as good.
A bit slow and with less resolutions available.
This installation was the 1st one I tried so might have chosen incorrectly with some of the options.

If it is no better after this installation, I will try running the medconfig program.
