I have now read most of the CDC usb specs, and that class includes a lot of diffrent subclasses and protocols.. is there a specific Class/device you wanted support for.
It came down to me not knowing how a serial device should work, so I wanted to have a look a the old 3.x source code to se how to build it... but I never came around to study it.
Did you write something at all or nothing ? I can give some help if you need, just contact me in private. I have two pl2303 harware here so I can test a pl2303.device.

Now you got me, so far I believed that CDC mostly is about emulating COM: just like what the FT232 do.
And with the lack of USB on my side I currently can only make general suggestions and not explore my demands.

I can't remember how much I did, but I think I did what I could and that means all the device function and scanning the usb device for interfaces and endpoint but nothing more.
any chance to make or port yeah o port pencam.vhi driver and tool OS4??? :) :) I have this driver on OS3 dan work great in comabination whit Poseidon and VHI studio...

When I was offering help for pl2303, it was not only help to test, but also to code... If you need some, just tell me.
shame that you have not enough time for a FTDI driver. I use garage diagnostic equipment with my Dell Laptop and winXP and this uses a USB serial interface with an FTDI driver. I would be especially interested if a driver existed for OS4 to be able to connect the diagnostic interface to my A1 and see what works. Mind you, I have noticed that the driver for windows is not very system friendly and keeps trying to reinstall itself depending which USB port I use.
ABout the reinstallation this is not an FDTI related problem, this is a Windows problem the same is true about almost every USB driver (even USB sticks).
Even my Virus synthesizer when i connect to a different usb port on my systers pc wants me to install driver. I use it when i want to update the firmware.
