Who, laszlo? ROFL. I take it that you don't know him well. I wish he was half as good (as a person) as Moovid is.
I'm a registered user, btw.

Is there anybody who cannot afford 10 euro for a registered version and for appreciation of the huge work done on an Amiga optimized video player what nobody else done?

Is there any OS3.x user who need it and not registered yet in the last decade?

Sure?

RiVA and Moovid are top notch for OS3.x.
Frogger plays more formats but is much slower than the other two.

Have registered all three.

Will register DVplayer when I get it working properly.

DvPlayer is nice, but you most register to get full featured version, that support all the video formats.

Even the registered version doesn't support Quicktime either for some reason.

A pity as that is one of the formats I would want to use quite often.

The reason would be that he hasn't had time to add it yet? MPlayer got support for QT, how good I don't know though.

These appear to be builtin:
Quote:

14.AOS4:> mplayer -vc help | grep -i quicktime
ffqtrle ffmpeg working QuickTime Animation (RLE) [qtrle]
ffrpza ffmpeg working QuickTime Apple Video [rpza]

Rest appear to be implemented as external codecs (the codecs pack for win32 version provides them).

Regarding email address change and such, please write an email (sf.amiga at gmail.com) to make sure it doesn't get lost, if you lost your copy, send me your previous email address too and preferably your Reg.Net registration ID.

@all

About DvPlayer and supported formats. I'm almost finished with adding WMV support. It turned out to be a lot more effort than I initially tought, and other things kept interrupting me (bugfixes and work on other things) and also I had less spare time in the past year than before, slowing down my progress. I know there hasn't been a release of DvPlayer for a long time and I wanted to release a new version of DvPlayer for XMas last year, but ran out of time, so the new release with WMV support is now scheduled for spring of this year. I want to ensure that what I release is of good quality, stable and complete, I don't want to release half-finished, buggy things, I hope you understand. Apart from WMV support there are countless bugfixes and several smaller new features. Adding 2 new formats will be top priority after that, those are MOV and FLV. I haven't decided which will come first.

Good. I prefer quality releases.

Are there any news regarding MooVid 1.7 ?

I'm relative new on AmigaOS 4.x (I'm a fresh AmigaOS 4.1 user on Sam), and I didn't download any 4.0 updates from Hyperion in this years, so I would like to try this software.
AFAIK it was present in Pre Release or in the Update 2 not sure but I can't found it ...

Maybe someone can legally upload it on OS4Depot, is it possible ?

It's dead.
Use DvPlayer instead.

Being that it is past Spring, could you give a new estimated time for a new DVPlayer release?

Thanks,

Good question. I'm in the middle of moving internationally and it looks like I won't be able to do any serious Amiga development for the next month or so. I've done quite a bit of work on DvPlayer during the summer but quite a bit of work is still left to do until a release.

Thanks for the update. Perhaps in the meantime, someone could post a tutorial on how to use 3rd party codecs with DVPlayer?

You mean as a user (copying the plugin) or as a developer (API) ?

@Cobra

WMV? But DVP can play these already :-/

After having read the documentation, I realized such functionality was a part of avcodec.library, not DVPlayer. That was my mistake.

Yes, I'm still waiting for you to get back home here so I can register this player of yours locally... I did register RiVA back in the day too...

And I agree completely with your stance on a future release
