I'm probably being dense, but I've just installed 1.15, and am getting the old 'ELF Library' popup - "Required object is missing", and I can't remember how to fix it ! I did have 1.12 working fine(ish) before I updated.
If you used AmiUpdate for installing it the new shared objects used by 1.13+ should have been installed automatically, but if you installed it manually you have to download sobjs.lha from my homepage as well and copy the Sobjs/#? files to SOBJS: and from the OWB archive OWB/Workbench/Devs/curl-ca-bundle.crt to DEVS:.

What about the posting problem ?
I haven't checked it with the Linux version of OWB yet, but it's very likely a bug in OWB itself and not in my OS4 parts. We have to wait until such bugs are fixed by the OWB developers (or WebCore developers if it's not only a bug in OWB), I can't fix all of OWB's bugs myself, it has way too much

Grim reaper on quiting OWB 1.15 doesn't happen all the time. Had it twice always at exactly same address.
both times I had been using simplemail and owb at same time.

What can be done is to create vector based image of web content, that way you can render only the visual parts, saving lots of mb of bitmap memory.

Unless the web page is vector-based to begin with (e.g. SVG) there is no way you can efficiently create a vector image from a bitmap.

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

I'd like new windows and/or tabs. Not only to keep several pages open but things like deleting e-mails from yahoo doesn't work since it doesn't throw up the window asking if you're sure.

Well a web page contains of lots of stuff, like Text, table, background colors, and so on, think about this as vectors, and attributes, images you do not display does not need to be in memory they can be on disk, so that a few more mb saved.

I remember correct in the "state of art" A500 demo some one created a vector animation of girl dancing.

I think it was done to save disk space.

classic Amiga thats way.
Even if they would have enough memory their CPUs and RAM are way too slow for pages with use a lot of JavaScript, CSS, etc., especially for a WebCore based browser, and OWB is even much slower than other WebCore based browsers, i.e. it's not "only" about 5 times slower than for example FireFox for most things but more likely 20-50 times.

For pages which don't need CSS, JavaScript, etc. you can use for example AWeb instead.

I never was patient enough to wait if the table bench completes at all in OWB, but if it does the results, especially on classic Amigas, would be interesting. On my 750FX/800 A1 I get 0.10fps with Konqueror 3.5.8 (I don't have the KDE4 WebCore based one installed any more, but IIRC it was much slower), 0.43fps with FireFox 2, 0.45fps with FireFox 3 and 1.77fps with Opera 9.50.

Interesting, do you know the reasonof this speed gap?
Is some of the other WebCore based browsers portable on OS4? I mean in a feasible way...

Is it possible to embed some version indication into sobjs archive filename?
I usually download the browser from your site (once tried AmiUpdate, but there were some dns problems with OWB).

Thanks.
