1.16 is Available with Support for Downloading and Uploading

Downloading seems to work very well. (If you are using OWB on its own screen, you will have to switch to the Workbench screen to see the download progress window.)

Thanks Andrea and Joerg!

No problem getting the requester window. But the files don't seem to actually show up on my drive afterward. Is there some configuration necessary for downloading which I missed? I tried three different files from OS4 Depot

Paul

edit:

make that 5. I just tried Commander and Bubbleblanker, too.

ALso when I posted the original unedited version of this message, I got a save requestor after clicking "submit. I canceled, and to my surprise, it showed up here. But the last couple of versions of OWB let me post without that glitch.

Were any of the SObj's updated with this version?

It only seems to work when downloading to RAM: . If I try to download to the harddrive nothing seems to happen. Oh... when I click on "Submit" here it tries to upload "post.php".

OK, yes, saving to RAM: works here, too.

Paul

and letting it save a post.php file to RAM does just that, but either canceling that step or letting it save the post.php gets the message on the forum here.

Yes I've noticed that too so it doesn't matter much, however
on another site I used to be able to log in but not any
more. It asks if I want to upload something in a similar
way but I never get logged in.

Also on this site http://www.aftonbladet.se/ . It loads the
first page fine. Then I click on the link to the news about
Patrick Swayze and it stops doing anything and CPU goes up
to 100% . Tried several times with and without javascript.

Could you try and see if the same thing happens to you? OWB
has been more or less unstable with that site since the
first release (I suppose it got lots of bugs though and
should be considered alpha right now).

Hah! I didn't even notice that limitation (I almost always download things to RAM first).

That download request when the submit button is hit is annoying (though the post does still go through).

Yip downloads to ram: but that is fine. Now if only we had copy and paste abailities!
Re your addressbook, could it possibly be linked to a button on the navigation panel? That way it would seem more integrated.

Jeorg
thanks for all your great work on this (and to all others helping)

I can confirm that it downloads files to ram: but it also downloads them in root for other partitions on hd like dh2: etc. The problem comes when you want to download in a subdir like dh2:files etc. then it wont work.

Just checked that out and I get the same results.
Posting this from v1.16 to check the submit problem, but I can confirm that the scrollbar/graphic corruption on v1.15 is gone :)

Funny, If I select 'Preview' I get the save file requester!!!

It is a save file reguester, but I had just been testing the downloads function using OS4Depot, so it may be just the last reqeuster used.

I just visited http://www.amiga.org/ . You'll receive a save requester right a way and anytime you click on a link on that site.

Hi Allan,

Yes, a button to launch the AddressBook in the navigation bar would be nice. I just sent a message to Joerg (along with another donation) asking him if he would consider adding a button that could be used to start any third-party application (the path to which could be configured in a OWB tooltype, like the home page button). He is the one, though, who can make this happen (if he wants to)...I can't.

The best thing is if bookmarks are added to a pull down menu, like AWeb and Ibrowse, be cool if it supported the same bookmarks format as IBrowse or Aweb.

Downloading to any path works here (but I didn't test it on FFS partitions yet), please start OWB from a shell and check if there is any output about errors opening the file.

The download progress window should be opened on the correct screen in the next version.

I've fixed the wrong downloads on amiga.org (empty/no mime type), testing now what happens here when posting with OWB ...
Edit: Nothing, it's working here!?

Since I don't get the wrong download requesters when posting here please start OWB 1.17 from a shell and if you get wrong download requesters post the "downloading mimetype=foo/bar" output, thanks.
