Ok, i have to disconnect the floppy from the amiga 1200 and in the kickstart layout i have to comment the floppyfix ?
Then, you wish that i try to boot in AGA or PCIGraphics and see where appear the early startup-menu ?
Yes, disconnect the floppy, make sure you don't have the floppy fix loaded, then try to boot the system. If it doesn't work, try to get into the early boot menu.
Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.
When you say you can reach the early startup screen are you talking about the 3.1 startup screen on a 15Khz Display or the OS4 ESS on a monitor plugged into the graphics card on your mediator ?
I can reach the early startup menu when i switch on the computer on a pal TV not a monitor.. After booting os4 with the update ( it doesn't boot ) i have a black screen and even if i reset the computer i cannot enter in any menu..
My hd has 3 partitions, one for the system, one called work and one for the swap..
I have only one os4 installation..
and no os3x..
i am waiting to receive the ide interface to add a bigger hard drive and make an os4 installation and an os3.9 installation with full support for mediator
Well today i fired up my Miggy and did some tests. I've installed the classic OS4-update for BPPC/CSPPC:
1. used newest Elbox-drivers (PCI.library & Voodoo.card -- commented out in kicklayout: PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip) with ORIGINAL kernel (52.15): --> OS4 bootmenu accessible and WB loads OK!
2. used newest Elbox-drivers (PCI.library & Voodoo.card -- commented out in kicklayout: PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip) with UPDATED kernel (52.21): --> OS4 bootmenu accessible and WB loads OK!
3. used OS4-drivers (PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip in kicklayout -- deleted PCI.library & Voodoo.card) --> bootmenu NOT accessible and NO booting at all
Haven't yet tried with OS4-drivers and ORIGINAL kernel but will do if necessary.
@nubechecorre I have an existing OS 3.9 -installation that i use too . I just renamed files with it and always did a hard reset (3-finger salute for 6secs), used "BOOTLOADER VERBOSE", also checked with Scout that OS4 really used the NEW kernel and not the ORIGINAL one. So it works with the new kernel but not with the OS4 graphic drivers.
I have a clean os4 files, which files i have to manually copy on my sys: partition to use elbox drives ? after that i have to comment voodoo.chip and pci graphic in kicklayout and also removing them from sys: or just commenting them ?
just copy PCI.library to LIBS: & Voodoo.card to LIBS:Picasso96 and comment out PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip from kicklayout to use Elbox drivers. Vice versa for OS4-drivers only .
