Dunnoh if the fact that it report local time 2 hours behind the real time has anything to do with it.

Can anyone try to perform some tests?
Jack

Doesn't do anthing here either, reports that it will need
80 minutes to finish, but immediately stops afterwards

For me it told the right time when it finishes, but never
started to perform that test...

It shouldn't tell anything. The drive should perform the test in background (the command tells drive to perform an internal test, at least linux version does so according to its manuals).
The report should be shown in the output of "smsmartctl -l selftest a1ide.device:0" after the test is finished.

Can plz you run the command after the test supposedly complete?

Jack.

It has never worked here either, get exactly the same as you (says it is testing, but the log shows nothing)

Thanks, looks like it is sufficient to annoy SG a bit, the sources seem to lack custom rules that where used to compile it...

Exactly that (it's from the same page Snuffy pointed).
Looks I'll have to find a way to recreate the missing make rules file to compile the source Stephane provided.
Only if I had some xtra time

This address is no more active (AFAIK he left steria some time ago to launch his own business) try to PM sg2 here (he last logged 2 days ago) or try the email address composed after his website address just replace .free.fr at the end by @free.fr but I can't guarantee you he's reading this mailbox...
On the other hand if he last logged 2 days ago he surely saw this thread so if he did not answered...

Back to a quiet home... At last

Thanks for the info. I thought PM-in, but saw the last login (2 days ago) and it was waaay back in time.
With all my late luck, he probably peeked in while I was checking his last log and left before I positing of the request...
I'll try PM amd see what happens.
