Well I made a reinstall of os3.1. Installed the, as far as I know latest 68040 and 68060 librarys (se above for the source), installed IDEfix-97 to get the CD-rom going. Updated the installer with the one on the Cybergraph 4.0 CD. Installed Cybergraph 4.0. Rebooted. Still no screenmodes and still no reaction from CGXmode in prefs. Updated Cybergraph to 4.3 r6. Rebooted. Still no reaction from cgxmode and still no screenmodes.

I used the script on the Cybergraph CD to get a report and got the below. I hope anybody can see the error. I am beginning to lose hope here.

Be sure to install them right.

First you should rename the existing 68040.library into 68040old.library. Then you copy 68040dummy.library from the system disk and rename it into 68040.library. Finally you copy 68060.library.

So in the end you have

68040.library (very small, only a few hundred bytes)
68040old.library (the one from Commodore; not needed if you have a 68060)
68040new.library (68040.library from the system disk, not needed if you have a 68060)
68060.library

Read 68040dummy.library.notes in the root directory of the system disk for more information.

Bye,
Thomas

This is outdated. Get 47.1 from Aminet on the link Thomas posted earlier.

Not sure if it helps on the real problem, though, but at least for CGXMode it should help.

Best regards,

Niels

You are an angel

Doing the librarys the right way did the trick.

That's great.

I've removed the disk file from my homepage because it contains files from Workbench which may not be distributed.

Here is the script used to make it, in case someone wants to recreate it:
