How will the presence of OS4 port harm the commerical product for ******** *******? According to this logic the matlab available on Aminet should have been deleted long time ago. MathWorks are lucky thet noone noticed that and doesn't use this hihghly optimized version instead of the current bloated release that comes on a BlueRay disc

"the expression, 'atonal music,' is most unfortunate--it is on a par with calling flying 'the art of not falling,' or swimming 'the art of not drowning.'. A. Schoenberg
I am no lawyer, but surely, once you put something out into the public domain, and say "I am giving it away" then surely, since you gave it away - you cannot take it back.
For example, if I gave away my MicroA1 to someone, its theirs, therefore I cannot comeback later on and say its mine, I want it back.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

No cause is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it.
for the old releases are not easy. you can say to the aminet webmaster "you must delete the files". but you cant make the webmaster any problems. only when the webmaster say no.
Wow! 1991... I haven't used Matlab in a few years, but I do remember it having some nice graphical tools which sped up development of scripts. I guess the 1991 version is probably so out ofdate that nobody really cares at all about it...
Well, spotup could contact and tell them about the amiga port and the limited number of users there is to see if he can get permission to republish it. Perhaps in binary form only.
I'm pretty sure about the availability of this game continously from the past when it become available.
Many downloads have been done on that archive on OS4depot.net, so.
If something once have been released, then it will be spreaded over the world, 'till when Earth stops spinning. I bet many Amigans still have floppy disks infected with a "living" Lamer Exterminator virus...
Funny but when it was released, I did not get a copy from OS4depot, but now I would like to, from anywhere :)
Due to communication problems on my part, the previous announcement about Cave Story is not actually correct.
I misinterpreted the mail I was sent. It was stored on my webmail, which I don't check very often. When I went to post this News Item, I couldn't find the mail as I wasn't looking in the right place, so, I relied on my memory. I accidentally mixed up two different events and e-mails that lead to this invalid announcement. My deepest apologies for this. Long story short, Cave Story remains out of commission as the port turned out to have a serious bug, that makes the game impossible to complete. The bug is not yet fixed nor found, so the powers that be have decided having it out there is kind of pointless. I asked the Moderation Team to remove the other news item as it was inaccurate. Don't blame them for the deletion, I am responsible for this mess on my own, and I am the one to blame. Again, people, I am very sorry for this mess. Signed, spotUP
