The first difference I noticed is I can plug my cowon A3 (pmp usb device) at any moment, before or after the os4.1 is loaded. I have no fixed A1. My device is always attached whatever ports I use, front or rear. The only difference is when I plug my A3 in the front ports, it is seen by Uboot.
BUT, like before in OS 4.0, I can't use my A3 on amiga. I have no icon or assign. I would understand, I read the usb documentation in OS4.1 cd but nothing is helpful.
Let help me understand. Is it a hardware or software problem ? There are the informations I have.

I must say that normally the device should be mounted but it is not the case. That's why I posted this message to try to understand. I hope some guys at Hyperion will see my post and answer it if they are not too busy for an update to OS4.1 ...

No! It's a SubClass 6 device. Do you read!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB Host Controllers During the design phase of USB 2.0, the USB-IF insisted on only one implementation. The USB 2.0 HCD implementation is called the Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI). Only EHCI can support hi-speed (480 Mbit/s) transfers.
In the last post, Snuffy seems to write that you are writing some USB stuff. Is it right ? If yes, what do you want to do ? Can I test something ? or when do you think to show to something ?
Yes I'm proberly the only one at the moment, looking into usb (when I take the time).
I havent really havent looked at MassStorage, so I can't really tell what when wrong.
About SubClass 0 and 6.
If you have SubClass 0 in the Function, it means you will find the info In the Interfaces. Or in other word, if you got SubClass 0, look else where to find Class info.
A Class of FF means it Vendor Specific and need a special driver.
I thought about this one, but decided cheaper was always better for the A1. So, I got the 'COBY MP3Player'. It works real well with the current USB. It only requires valid ID3 tags.
Cowon A2, cowon X5L and Cowon I7 work great with classic amiga and spider2 with the great Poseidon with USB 2.0 or 1.1 used. USB HDD 80go and 160go work also great. In fact, ALL work great with the great Poseidon and chris is my GOD .
As soon an owner of a sam, I understand now (by reading this thread) that I will continue to use the classic for USB because I don't think I will have the chance to have USB working with all my USB hardware....
BTW, after having my new SAM, I wil propose my help to test with my hardware for a better support about USB with AOS4.1 ,if needed....
- There is a place with RWO and AOS4.X users could share USB problems and test beta versions for USB on AOS4.X ???
As RWO said he is alone on USB for AOS4.x and no free time to see USB, why not having a contact with chris Hodges/poseidon author and ask him some help ????
- Why not transforming the poseidon 68k bounty also for AOS4 and not only for AROS. IMHO, this bounty, with help from chris, will be filled in a few days if all known that the best on the amiga world about USB will work together and with poseidon 68k sources as examples ???

Umm, did you ever try asking Amiga Inc. management about any of these topics?
