Mine crashes everytime... First it gives a DSI-error and then - after pressing ignore - an ISI-error...

I've tried increasing the stack to over 500000...

What to try next, guys?

Raise the minimum stack to 32 kb (already mentioned in this very thread - seizing the chance to ask again: wasn't automatic stack enlargement to be in place?).

no because the GR appears at re-booting time. I have to save the prefs and then reboot. If I only do a "use", everything is ok

So, let me get it straight: if you *boot* from CD it's OK, but if you *reboot* from CD it's not? - smells like you have mixed Kickstart modules (yes, I've read that you made a clean installation, but this last post of yours hardly makes sense to me...).

Doesn't work... It crashes...

Would it help to see crashlogs?

Oh, I am running WIP4... should I go back to WIP3?

LATEST NEWS - download .28 instead of .29... and it works! Great!

And Amigainput works with this nice joypad I bought!

Before posting them here, you'd better show them to Richard Drummond (maybe it is not a problem with the OS).

Here version 0.8.29-WIP4 runs happily (except for the mentioned stack issue), but I do not use AmigaInput: maybe that's where the problem is? Could you try running version 0.8.29-WIP4 without AmigaInput (move the preferences temporarily somewhere else and make sure you start E-UAE without any gaming device plugged in)?

E-UAE on AmigaOS 4.1 crashes when opening the config file, if you delete the config file or start it from the config GUI it works right away.

Not here (even when feeding it with two configuration files).

I always start it from shell (mostly through glUAE) and, as said, only the stack may cause problems.
Maybe configuration options have something to do with the problems you are experiencing.

Here it does that only if I run it by doubleclicking on the uae icon and "Start from:" on the uae icon is set to "Shell". Modifying "Start from:" to "Workbench" fixes this.

Running it from commandline also works without problems.

Hi Guys,

Finally installed OS4.1 yesterday (upgrade) and so far the main problem for me is AmiDisk.

Everytime I click on any button instant freeze, no GR, no nothing, all I can do is reset.

Anyone else get this and if yes did you fix it?

Ciao,
Trev Daley.

can you do warm reboot?

if so go to shell and type:

c:DumpDebugBuffer

you might get some info from there, but is most likely some overwritten mui stuff, or missing config files in envarc.
missing fonts in fonts: or missing library's in libs:

Upgrade was *not* recommanded, especially because you might have some 3rd party programs that can cause trouble.
For example PowerIcons should *NOT* be used with OS 4.1, in the event you would need PNG icons, then please use the PNG icon module from os4depot instead.

Another way to see if the problem is not caused by another program is to boot from the CD and see if AmiDock crashes from there...

Whilst I agree with your advice regardless of which program cause his problems, it was AmiDisk not AmiDock that is the problem.

Oops, you are right... Sometimes one reads what he wants to read
Anyway I guess the best option would be to contact the AmiDisk author and see if he also got those kind of problem (Roland is a gentle and nice guy, no doubt he'll answer).
There are some problem (bugs) with the OS4.1 speedbar reaction gadget and I guess the problem might lie here, but that does not prevent from contacting Roland...

I cannot seem to get any version of E-UAE to work with OS4.1, I get the DSI followed by the ISI evrytime even with version .28

no, what I said is that when I boot from the CD I cannot save the prefs and then reboot to see if it works.

And I didn't do a clean install. That's for sure the problem....

I soooo miss having a proper window selector in os4.x. It's one of the main reasons for me not using the A1 regularly.

Do you mean the one that appears when you right-click a window's depth gadget?

Ahother issue (not quite a problem, but still):
some obsolete tz files sneaked into system (in particular: Israel 2007).
Telling prefs/timezone to use locale settings makes it use the 2007 file, deleting the relevant timezone file fixes the problem.
I guess this one is for Detlef.

And Hebrew strings (like weekday/month/default requester strings) are reversed, but that's a decision to make.
(totally minor importance, looks like I'm the only one to use it atm, and I prefer English as default language).

Of course you can't save prefs when you've booted from the CD. It will try to save them to the disk where it booted the system from (which is the CD).

You can't save prefs until you boot your installed system.

aarrghhhh I didn't complain that I cannot save prefs to CD. I complain that if I set the small icons in the workbench "text mode" I get a grimreaper at reboot. I can't test from CD, because I can't save the prefs.
