I just bought and downloaded my first movie on the PS3. But I think it'll be my last unless they change their policy and allow you to download to an external USB drive. I don't want to fill up the limited space on the internal drive with a lot of movies.

This is interesting for me. I am considering buying a PS3 for (son + wife and yeh ok me Xmas). Son already has XBos + PS2, wife and I have Mac X, Amiga and XP. Reality is I am no modern game junkie (old, very old time Amigan here) but I like the idea that it would be in my lounge, play blueray and access the net via Linux (I am very comfortable with YDL, Ubunutu etc etc) and games are a bonus for my las and mates.
Why can't you move the download? Does it specifically disable USB? Any advice taken on.

I am told, if I understand correctly, that you can move the movie if you take the HD out of the PS3 and put it in another system. But that is such a PITA. You have given me an idea though to see what happens when I connect the PS3 to my A1 through USB.

Why not to buy usb hard drive enclousure. Stick another hard drive to it and presto! Then you need to connect that additional hard drive to PS3 usb port and you can exchange data between drives without removing and "playing" with original PS3 hard drive build in the machine. I did it and it works very well for me.
