Is there OFS support in OS4?

Hi!

I have just attached a CF to IDE adapter to my DataFlyer IDE card on an A2000. Installed a new partition under KS1.3.

I had hoped that I can access that CF card in my A1 with an USB card reader, but it doesn't work.

I can select fs manually for the card with USB MassStorages prefs, but it seems that OFS is missing from the options?

So, is there any possibility to access OFS partitions in OS4?

To describe the reasons I am setting up a 20 years old machine with 20 years old softwares for an upcoming event.

You should always use FFS for hard drives, even on KS 1.3.

But OFS should work with OS4, too. For example you can mount ADF files with diskimage.device.

I think that OS4's USB driver does not support RDB partition table. At least I had problems using an USB memory stick partitioned on the Amiga, too. I had to mount the partitions manually using Mounter.

I have in the past used an 80Gb USB hard disk RDB partitioned with one big SFS partition without problems on both OS4.0 and OS4.1...

I see MBR always with FAT32 on my USB drives.

I use a 256 MB USB memory stick formatted with FFS2 (DOS\07) as a portable system disk.

But I agree, I think RDBs on ALL removable media are not supported (deliberately). You can crash the system by removing a device with an RDB on it.
