Hi, Newbie alert....

Hi folks,

I'm from the UK and a long time Amiga user.

At the moment I have an A2000 5MB RAM with OS3.1 and an A4000 with 128MB RAM, CS-060 mk3 and PIV running OS3 which is used mainly for Lightwave and Imagine.

When things pick up work wise I hope to see what all this OS4 stuff is about and get a SAM .

Wow, the 2000 was my first, then came the 4000. Now I have an A1XE and Samantha and I am very happy with AOS 4.1.

As Soon as my A1XE is home I'll probably need some advice getting AOS4.1 Installed as AOS has never been installed. Thank all in advance for you expertise.

First question: Is getting a CPU upgrade from 800Mhz from ACUBE worth the price of all the shipping and stuff?

Second: Can they flash my U-Boot with the latest at the same time or will it come that way?

The upgrade depends on you,if you want to or have the extra money. I'd do it if i had the extra money,but thats me,hehe! If you do get the 1,267ghz upgrade.
About the uboot i don't think an upgrade isn't ready yet.

My U-Boot is original, as in "2003", I think there is a newer one now. I seem to remember that the first A1XE's had a "non flashable" U-Boot. I don't know, It's been a while.

I'll ask how to check when it is in front of me.

By the way, My WRX Turbo is lots of fun. I recommend a turbo for every serious driver, and Amiga's too

Yeah I did it all, It was originally an Auto as well . I've just built another engine too and fitted front mount intercooler.

I'll have to have a blast on a SAM first, but then I'm used to Lightwave 3D and Imagine on an 060 and it must be faster than that.

If Blender get an OS4 conversion I'm in

As for the SAM, see if you can get down to ANT UserGroup, you're not a million miles away from Enfield and gives you a chance to blow the cobwebs from your turbo!

I think a Blender OS4 port was mentioned somewhere, I'll do some digging.

Sounds like a plan, although the 300zx is not on the road atm, due to lack of funds. so I'm running around in the bug

I've always liked DC2s. not bad for a fwd honda

I defo need to try one of these SAM things, especially if Blender is on it's way.

I'd quite like a RWD car next - drove some Caterhams at Brands Hatch earlier this year, in fact I won the event there (company event, not a proper compo but I was up against experienced RWD owners) and had the time of my life.

As for the SAM, well if you can get down to ANT, you'll get cake and Amiga OS4.1, 2nd Sunday of every month. Try and make the December or January events, should be a laugh.
