SAM440ep in A1200 case... updated

How will you handle the keyboard?

There is an adapter called KeyRah. You can use that adapter to connect original Amiga 1200 keyboard as an USB keyboard.

Cool, any idea if it works with an A600 keyboard?

It will work with Amiga 600 as well.

Hi guys, my first post.

I just ordered a Sam440EP from Amigakit.

I'm gonna give this thing a try myself as well, might do thing a bit different and modify the case with a slot load DVD drive on the side. I'll have to tinker around when I get it.

Unfortunately, we are still awaiting stocks from ACube.

As soon as they say that the SAM boards are ready to pickup- we will immediately send FedEx to uplift the stock from ACube.

I am still waiting for my Sam direct from ACube... they have had the money for 6 weeks

and I only went to ACube because you sold out...

Yeah I saw that they moved the date again.

While I have lots of other toys to play around with, I was hoping to start my AOS 4 experience sometime in the near future.

I hope it's worth waiting for, what would really irk me is if I received it in a couple months then they announced new hardware soon after.

Just acquired an Amiga 600 (well actually two since I won some Ebay auction as well) and will see if a SAM board will fit inside (might be dissapointed).

Wont have much time to tinker with the project for now and wont get a SAM until February, but lots to speculate about until then.

What does the SAM measure in height? I Think the power connector might be a problem.

I brought 2 old notebooks home from work the other day, lots of good parts
Any way to hook the RADEON M9 up to a laptop screen?
Does the M9 have a LVDS interface since it was? created for laptops?

The size is about 20-22 mm in height. I'm not sure if SAM will fit properly, because like you wrote power port might be a problem even if it will be soldered flat. The keyboard angle might be a problem, so the only way to fit SAM will be in horizontal position. I have no motherboard so it's difficult to speculate. Board size is 170x170x20(or 22)mm.

About the laptop, I don't know mate...

Not sure about the amiga. Afaik for the laptop monitor i think you need to make a custom converter. Read that they have a custom flat somekinda cable directly to the machine. The same problem is for the keyboard,have special flat cable. And there is the problem of the battery,and power. Think the sam will fit if you hack and slash a bit.
