Having a bit of trouble with lpr.device. I have installed the device, made the changes to DEVS:NSDPatch.cfg and made the file lpr.device in EnvArc: with the arguments... HOST=192.168.2.9 MEMORY.
With the above I get a window popup Titled "Line printer device" which saids "Error reading "lpr.device" environment variable {wrong number of afguments)."
Later a message appears saying something about checking cables.
You may use a real host name instead of an ip address in the env variable.
Try to call
setenv lpr.device save HOST printer RAW
Then add a printer host name with prefs/internet. This way you can change ip address of the printer via preferences and not needed to touch the env variable if the printer's config will change.

Which printer? RAW=socket printing, maybe your printer supports lpd only? For socket printing: port 9100 is the default one.

Check the protocols available in the printer's web interface (I bet it has one, just access http://its-IP-address in the browser) Then somewhere there'l be the info on available protocols.
