Upgrading A4000 - Mediator?
Home away from home

Hi Amigans,

I'm thinking about getting a Mediator board for my
trustworthy A4000, now, i'm not sure which road to go at all.
I want to be able to use AOS4 with it when it's available.

I'd like to install:

Want (Have atm)

1. 100MBit Ethernet Card (XSurf2 10MBit)
2. Radeon 9200 Gfx Card (CybervisionPPC)
3. Sil0680 IDE Card (CybervisionPPC SCSI)
{Is it possible to use the DMA modes then (40 + 80 GB HD)?}
4. A faster CPU board [if available] (CybervisionPPC 200MHz/060 50MHz)

That's what i'm dreaming of, of course there will be
obstacles...may some of you who already have such a board
point out the difficulties i may encounter and possible
workarounds, please?

Also, if there is a better (more compatible) solution for
an AOS4 capable classic system, please also, don't
hesitate to push my head right into it!

Thanks a lot in advance

My understanding is that driver department is the problem for the classic Amiga computers, maybe you should wait.

I think the Mediator will work whit out DMA, so every thing you connect to it will work whit out DMA. Ethernet, Radion, and so on.

I thought about the driver situation too, we don't have a
"officially supported hardware list" yet...hmmm, too bad

Maybe when OS4 final hits the streets we'll get a somewhat
official list which i can use to go shopping

Thanks
