d/l'ed - yup, same here too - although it is suffering from bandwidth problems (only using the internal IDE for a start, and a number of other things running). To be honest, I figured it was just down to a slowish system at first - but others having the same problem leads me to think otherwise. Tried DvPlayer, but the OS4.1 bundled version doesnt support WMV ! (must stop being a cheapskate, and buy full version... )
ktadd wrote: I observed this same thing with my uA1. I also saw it using DVPlayer. Then I enabled the NOOVERLAY tooltype in DVPlayer and the video looks fine when played. I also noticed the aspect ratio is different when overlay is enabled vs. disabled. A clue perhaps?
That's certainly worth looking at, a mplayer alternative, thanks for that ktadd

Not at all, just that size from a certain site, perhaps it's the High Definition wmv format?

Have tried a a few resolutions including 1440x900 and can't reproduce that fault.
Using a Sam 4.1
Is the px HD bit important and what is it?
It could well be, could well be
I'd give you a link to the videos in question but you need to be a member to download them

Too kind ! I only didnt spot it before cos I've been viewing via MPlayerGui - I couldnt be arsed to re-link the gui with the test version I'd unarchived to RAM: so I opened a shell and did it manually. good job too, or I'd never've spotted it !
Can confirm NOOVERLAY on DvPlayer and SDL on MPlayer both cure the problem on Sam.
Very good, just unless the new mplayer/sdl combo isn't quicker than previous versions I'd still rather not use sdl. Slow Motion has its advantages but snail slow is too much of a tease
All in all though it would seem we have tracked down the areas of concern, that's a good outcome
nice work there TiredOfLife

Using that test version, flv files are much improved now. its still out of sync, but not badly.. you just see lips moving a little out of sync with words, but its watchable now.
Do you think you'll be able to make further improvements in this area?

Try hitting the '+' key on the keypad once or twice while the video is playing and see if that helps.
