SEAL Ends Amiga Support ...

Maybe this was posted and I missed it, but SEAL announced on January 1 that they were ending Amiga support.

Mick Sutton (founder of SEAL) was the first person who encouraged me to paint icons for the Amiga.

Let's hope they come back when the amiga gets bigger again. Total amiga sounds familiar. Hm.. Need to check my old magazines.

I personally cannot see the point in "ending Amiga support" with an announcement like this. Seems a bit strange to me. Are they saying that if a user turned up there with an Amiga, they wouldn't be welcome from the given date? Perhaps people aren't attending who are interested in Amiga anymore which is understandable given dwindling numbers over the years, but to simply cut out support leaves me a little puzzled, but there you go!

Good luck to them, but a bizarre annoucement IMHO. Hopefully they'll re-consider one day, always liked Mick, a proper decent fella.

Rude!

@All,

Just a reminder, Amiga North Thames is still going please come support us.

You know what they say, if you don't use it, you lose it, please don't let us go.

Perhaps it's not unlike the phenoix - from the ashes the new Amiga era pushes forward, new blood blah blah and perhaps that's what's going on at SEAL. New blood behind the scenes want to focus in a particular direction.

As always I'm as stubrborn as a bull, let them go. I never used them once in over 22 years and I'm still here

Boo That's a shame - does seem odd to stop support though. Does no one in SEAL still own an Amiga?

How truly sad.....

Sicky was a great person to chat with on the messageboards.

And Total Amiga was a high quality magazine, I have about half the printed issues here.

Well, I don't care if everyone here leaves (BUT, i _may_ hunt you down.... ), I'll still be using my AmigaOneXE!!!!!!!!

Why are we a hobby? ONLY BECAUSE no big conglomerate will throw a few bucks in to make it mainstream!!!

We're expensive because of REDICULOUSLY low production runs.

imac??? That's an appliance. Sure it works, but it JUST doesn't compare to Amiga's user controlled environment. I guess maybe Amigan's are usually control freaks?? I don't know.

Why is our SW behind? DUH! Extreme shortage of coders!!!! But, we've got some of the best damn coders on the planet!

Also, even with all the trials and tribulations, it's WAY more fun, nonetheless.

Oh and I DO care, please don't leave the website!
