I've had to correct the first three posts* (including the title) of
this thread for this very mistake.
For the education of all English language speakers, whether it is your first language or not, here is the difference:
Loose is the opposite of
tightLose is the opposite of
findLoosing, consequently, is a made-up nonsensical word. You don't loose something, you loosen it - the correct form is therefore loosening.
This screw is a bit loose.
I am loosening my shoe-laces
I keep losing my Internet connectionThank you for listening to this public service message, I will continue to correct the error in future without explanation.
