(OLD) Apologies: AROS News item
Amigans Defender
Amigans Defender

See User information
Hello Everyone.

I would like to apologise for the removal of the AROS news Item. This was deliberate.
Whilst we have no personal objections to AROS itself, It is not what this site is about.

Amigans.net exists for the promotion of OS4.x and whatever incarnation to come - with a look back to classic and emulation, but our main focus remains the future of Amiga OS itself.

If we start allowing AROS, we might as well allow MorphOS and everything else, which would be stupid because that need is currently being met very well elsewhere.

May we recommend: http://www.aros-exec.org for AROS news

Thank you.

Mikey C

Good Move Mikey_C just one thing though, remove the apologies part in the title and just say regarding or something similair

never be sorry for being you

jokes aside, there is no need to apologise for a direction of intent... everyone will understand.

If they don't, well, make me an Amigan Defender and I'll handle it

I mean in last time too many news from AmigaFuture which are.. if said easy not so important. I.e. "new somethink online", "somethink packed", "somethink changes on url". Like everyone everyday think about AmigaFuture and so on. Looks like newes about nothink. I mean better post news like "owb is out", "some software out", "some hardware out". Not just somethink like "we change i name", "we put somethink on page" and so on. If someone want to post somethink everyday about some changes - better make a topic, or special area for all who in interest.

But it's imho of course.

I agree with you to a point, yes, what you say is valid, however, the problem is that Amigafuture is desperate to increase its circulation in order to survive, hence why we take a very easy approach to Amigafuture.
(Which is a great magazine, written on a shoestring, for the love of the Amiga and nothing else, so please subscribe today)

If we were back to the days when we had Amiga Format, CU Amiga, Amiga Shopper etc, then it wouldn't happen. But there is only one Amiga magazine left, we should all do what we can to support it.

Last one left folks, use it or lose it.
For good.

In this point i agree. For sure in near future we will see some more magazines after many apps growing app, and hardware more or less easy to get.

Unless it's in the Too Hot To handle forum of course where it would be fine (x86 stuff that is, AROS stuff would fit in the free for all forum).

I believe it is the right to do.

Because if the site talke about other OS, we open a gate to all other OS.

And AROS, its is great, not talk it not is, but, no more a amiga OS, just a kind of OS for x86 that have a little of the Amiga soul.

I like to see the AROS people working in their projet and want all of good for this people.

But I agree, no sense mix AROS with a AmigaOS site.

sorry for the terrible English, I want to know more to can say best that I think.

Should change the TOS to "This site supports only the development of AmigaOS4x and onwards. Unless topic is in too hot for handle." Or something like that. I am allso getting fedup of x86 now in the past i thought it was a good idea but now I have tasted what amigaos4.1 has to offer, and i am a very happy sam440ep amiga user only.

I'm closing this thread since it's ancient anyway and there's no point in bringing it back up.
