Celestia crash

Anyone else getting a GR when starting up Celestia? The log says it's crashing in the Warp3D.library. I have what I believe is the current version, 53.1. Crashlog available if needed.

Could you please try running it from shell instead of from an icon? Let me know if that makes a difference. You're not the only one with this problem.

Email the crashlog to the email address on my website (link in my sig.).

No GRs so far. But I did get a lock up when running the demo yesterday that required me to reboot.

I had some GRs but it was after using Celestia for 5 minutes or so.

You'd better have a 128 MB video card because when I watch the Demo, it only remains 70 MB free on my 9200 Pro but I get no crash at all.

I had some crashs using a 9200se with 128 MiB but I think that's because I still use my SoundBlaster Live which is known to cause problems when gfx demanding softs...

EDIT: typo

Back to a quiet home... At last

So, did you try running it from the shell?

@all

Could someone who is getting the lockup when running the demo please attach a serial cable and see if debug information is spat out when it locks up?

The command to redirect debugging information to serial is:
kdebug "console serial"

Did you get the crashlog I emailed you? That was from running it from the shell.

Yes I did. The last thing that you could try is to increase the size of the stack.

That should be more than enough.

Your profile says that you have a Radeon 7000. Is that what you're using? If so, I'd be interested to know what everyone else is using.

Hi @Hans

Could you please try running it from shell instead of from an icon?
I used 'Icon' and it runs fast and smooth: A1-XE G4; 256MB ram; OS4.1; PCI 9250-128MB; minigl 2.1

It would be helpful if people could post their system specs (board, CPU, memory, graphics card, graphics card memory, other PCI cards, etc.) along with the bug reports in this thread. I just took a look at the crash-log that Valiant sent me, and I can't find anything wrong with the code in question. The fact that Celestia works fine on my machine doesn't help.
