UtilityBase down?
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi,

Just noticed can't visit UtilityBase through Google at the moment due to Malware warning. As I thought there may be some crossover with users of amigans.net I thought this would be a good place to ask about what's going on. Does anyone here regularly visit UtilityBase or know what's up with it (and know how long that is likely to take to fix)?

@HenryCase

UtilityBase was infected by some v nasty trojans.

I believe they have removed the offending code but the site keeps being reinfected.

Until they sort out the CMS system, use it at your own risk.

I highly recommend adding it to the restricted sites lists if you are using IE.

Typical, I tried to raise the alarms about this months ago when I changed a setting in my account and then couldn't see the Site anymore... just some dumb advertisement...

Someone kindly offered me an email of someone but that came to nothing

In the end I stopped going there

It's a pity that this site seems to be so poorly maintained? It is a great resource!

As said it's been removed, but the Google warning won't disappear until when/if ever Google reviews the site again.

Of course if the site has already infected once how can you be sure that it won't happen again, especially if it's not clear how it happened in the first place.

The malicious html in question was inserted after the actual site html (i.e. after the </html>) so it's not just about a bad google ad. The site/server was actually hacked by someone or something.

Thanks for the info. Will await the proper return of UtilityBase, fingers crossed Google will review it soon (aros-exec is also awaiting a similar review at the moment, though the website is now clean).
